Well, it helps to understand the operation of the various parts in a plasma display:

Y-main/Y-sustain/Y-drive/SC board = Develops the sustain, priming and reset voltages. Responsible for part of panel light, and minimum glow from panel.

Y-buffer/Y-scan/SU/SD/SM board = Selects between Y-sus output and Y-sus output + Vscanhigh (about 150V.) If the Y-main output + 150V is low (the Vsch (Samsung)/Vsc (LG only)/Vscan (Panasonic only)) then the Y-buffer may be shorted.

X-main/Z-sustain/X-drive/SS board = Develops the alternate sustain waveform and the initialisation voltage Ve/Vzbias.

If the Y-buffer shorts, the Y-main Vscanhigh voltage will drop (this is DIFFERENT from the Vsc on Samsung panels) which will cause no image to appear on the panel in most cases; in some cases it will cause an image to appear but it will be noise only (all the pixels are being selected at once.) On older panels, and on some Panasonic panels, this may cause damage to the Y-sustain/SC board.

If the X-main goes bad it usually drags Vs with it, but if it doesn't, the picture will go dim or pink tinted or not all of the panel will work (there will be patches of dead pixels, sort of like a lava lamp.)

If the Y-main goes bad, most cases lead to no image at all.

A scope is extremely useful for the repair of plasma displays.

You should also respond to your posts for questions with follow ups. You post many threads that never go anywhere.
