    Toshiba 50UL4B63DG faulty screen?

I got this 50 inch tv the screen starts off with almost nothing visible but the top part of it , and it would slowly kick in and the picture would be visible , but then over time it would go greyish with the top of it mostly intact. I did have instance where the screen would be fucked like that and i would touch the cpu and memory to see if it would react and a couple times it would screech on the speakers and restart. After that it would show a better picture somewhat but afterwards i touch the cpu and not much is achieved. Im wondering is this a screen fault or should i pursue this with a donor board and see if that fixes the issue?

This is a screen fault. Screen manufracturer is Panda and they die alot. Woudn't recommend wasting your time on it

Take the cover off and take pictures of the inside.

I changed all three flat cables , and that's ruled out , at this point I'm pretty certain it's the screen fault

You can't save the software from the TV. At most, the memory dump. Disconnect the 2 lvds cables one by one and see if the image is correct on the remaining cable.

Also measure these voltages on the t-con and post what values you find.

99% is bad cpu contacts, do not trash the TV! If you can grab a compressed air can or freeze spray , freeze under the cpu when in working state with bad video out, if you see substancial improvement you can add the 1%

                      AVDD - 15,8v
                      HAVDD-7.5v
                      VCC3v3 -3.3v
                      VCC1v8 - 1.8v
                      VCC1,2v - 1.2v
                      VCOM_L / VCOM_R - 7volts

Tried freeze spray when screen goes to crap , no change , tried freeze spray on tcon aswell , no change.
when i plug in only one side , either i get nothing on screen or just same crap as before , tried the tape trick on all pins , both lvds didnt do much either.... At this point im really sure its just trash screen

Also in Service menu it says it has 600k im assuming minutes on time , i think this tv was on its whole life, 10000 hours is crazy , maybe not i dont know... ehh , this is going in the parts bin... It even has a energy sticker on the back from the stre , looks brand new too... I got this TV out of a business so it was probably in the store front or lounge...

No, i don't endorse the idea of bad panel, try a reflow to the processor, the spray trick is not effectivc'''e 100%, there's no other reason why pressing the cpu makes so much difference.. c'mon, another bit of enforce..

                              by reformatt
Just had a customer bring in a M2 MBA A2681 that had had a screen replacement in April at another repairer. Since then, she has been getting intermittent kernel panics. It's an aftermarket screen, and of course it fails in diagnostics as the calibration hasn't been done. The error in the panic log is "No device added after powering on the rails".

It seems the original repairer has swapped the board and the screen to other MAC's, and said that it isn't a screen issue. From what I understand, by doing a quick search on Google, this is in fact a screen issue. The panic relates...
