I finally fixed it!https://www.badcaps.net/forum/images...nanaghetto.gif The problem was on the power supply. I ordered a repair kit from shop jimmy for 0500-0412-1300 board and replaced all components as per kit. As for which component was bad I couldn't tell you because the board worked except for having to disconnect the BL_ON and reconnect to come on. I do know that there were four resistors that had a different value than the original ones. 200 ohms was the original value and were replaced with 20 ohms at these locations: R752, R756, R759 and R762. Hope this helps someone in the future.Comment

Hi guys,
Trying to salvage a Bose Companion 5 computer speaker system that powers off shortly after powering on. It's got a primary USB input (built in DAC) and an aux 3.5mm input. The USB appears to be the primarily source that tells the unit to power on (control pod LED goes green) as the unit has no power switch.
When I first connect power to the unit, plug in the USB, it will play audio nicely for a minute before it drops out and the unit appears to go into standby (control pod LED goes red). It stays in standby and I cannot seem to power it back on without physically...02-03-2022, 11:14 AM -

I'm stumped on this guy, so wanted to see if anyone has any further ideas:
Intro:
This is an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-55-55M1 with unknown prior history (bought "as-is" on eBay). It charges the battery and powers on from both AC adapter and battery, so I think this rules out main power issues.
Upon attempt to boot, it will "reboot" (meaning powers down and then powers on again) only once, and then stays stuck in a status of lights on / no post / no monitor. Powering on with fn+esc maxes out the fans on first boot attempt,... -
Powers on as normal shows an image then powers off after 10 seconds
I have to unplug it from the wall and replug to get it to turn back on but then shuts off
No blown caps

Laptop Model: DELL Precision 3520 Motherboard: CDP80 LA-E152P Rev 1.0 (A00)
Issue: The laptop powers on automatically after being shut down.
Actions Taken by Technician:
BIOS reflashed
Intel ME region cleared
Result: Issue still persists
Additional Observations:
Power button reads 3.3V (normal)
The problem occurs both when running on battery and when connected to AC adapter... -

I am new to this forum and have searched for some answers with problems similar to mine.
Philips TV powers on as normal for about a minute or less then click and no power at all not even standby light. If i disconnect from mains and reconnect it will power on again but for a shorter time. Once i leave it disconnected from main for a longer time it will power on for a longer period the next time.
It sounds like a power supply issue?
I have the board out and want to run some tests. Not sure what i should be doing but i put a 1k resistor across SB and +5v...
