Philips 42pfl6008s/12 red led comes on for a second and then goes away but 3.49v stay active

I was trying to repair my tv wich previously had a blinking red led 2 times and it kept going. After shorting the sdm the blinking led changed 5 slow blinks and 3 fast ones wich in the service manual meant error 53 / the fusion chip.
After I heated the fusion chip with a hairdryer for 5 minutes it started working perfectly but after a day it stopped this time no led blinks even in sdm mode.
After probing the psu I have 3.49v and for 1 second I have at least 2 12.3v lines active the fusion chip gets warm in that second the led turns on and then the 12v lines start losing power but the 3.49v stay active then nothing no blinks and reheating the fusion chip didn't work.
Could it be something different or is it the fusion chip and it can't be repaired

CPU solder balls are outdated, needs reballing, eventually needs also resolder the nand flash and or the ram chips

Do you think the cpu is still good the first time I heated it with a hairdryer for 5minutes straight and it fixed it but when it stopped working again I tried it again and it didn't work. The first time I had an error code and the 12v lines where all active now the 12v lines deactivate.

If you heated it with a hair dryer without bottom heating, then most likely the board was warped, bent, deformation occurred, now the chip does not fit evenly to the surface, if so, then now even reballing will not help, only replacing the board.

It's also possible that the hairdryer didn't get it hot enough to do a good job.

It can be tricky, too much heat can kill/warp etc, too little and no damage just no or bad/temporary results. Check some of the trusted youtube videos on reflowing, some good ones will use liquid no clean flux and try to get it under the chip. Slowly bring up temp to melt the solder balls. It could be good to have a second pair of eyes to see when the solder melts. Some will hold a little pressure on the chip for a bit while it cools, some don't. Have seen the diy reflows last a long time with a fan solution blowing directly on (not sucking out) the heasink covering the chip.

Real hairdryer has made probably only a partial deoxy together with dilatation that momentarily fixed the gap, but at long distance also for dilatation more balls can have detached, i did not notice the word hairdryer, balls must melt so it is not enough, to be made at home needs at least a large aluminum plate put on a small stove, and also heated from top with a heat gun at least 300w, also flux paste under the chip, needs the "move" check on the chip, check if sourrounding chips / components are still in place, a missing one can have stopped some line to the 25q flash chip responsible of standby software, example a resistor to the DI / Do line..

Have you got an oscilloscope? check 25q memory for data in/out.. you can try it also with a AMM or DMM maybe..

I think I am going to throw it out I have been trying to repair it for a few days.
I might just try the hairdryer again before throwing it in the trash because I can't find a replacement motherboard online

Exposing the chip to the temperature generated by the dryer for a long period of time can lead to its destruction.

I had taken it to a repair shop they said it wasn't worth fixing so I tried repairing it and it lead me to the fusion chip so I did it as one last effort and the tv worked for a bit

I believe you are correct, it's only a philips and 42 inch, it's not worth the effort or expense, I would /recycle it.
