42pc5D green 3 flashes then standby

As the title says you turn it on it flashes 3 times you can hear the power board click then a power surging sound then it cuts back off. this is my second plasma i've looked into and i tried to look at the service manual but there's no real troubleshooting on it.. the caps dont look bad but i was just getting a opinion if yall think its just the power board on it. thanks

look like power supply overheat and will give up soon

the 3 Click noise is the CPU seeing not enough voltage is made and refuse to start.

Probably the power surging you hear is the powerboard grunting over a shorted VA or VS on either Y or Z board...
They got a somewhat famous module on there, that likes to fail.
Can you check resistance between Vs and gnd,Va and gnd on connector P1 at the Zboard? Unplug connector and measure at the pins..
Same with the Yboard on connector P3.

WOW i feel dumb for not trying this at first.. i unplugged the p3 connector and the set turned on and had sound.. the pins to the p3 connector was getting the right voltage for the set so i'm guessing a bad ysus? since i can't really check for right voltage to the zsus

try it with P3 connected, but P1 disconnected, that should tell you if it's the Yboard or Z board,as Zboard gets its power through the Yboard...
Did you measure resistance too on the Y and Z board pins?
***always wait 15 minutes before plugging P1 or P3 back in,as the powerboard keeps a charge for awhile after you powered it up,if you plug ot back in right away you can get a nasty zapp on the plugs...

yeah i should have mentioned that i did pull the p1 out and so only the y sus is connected and it's not cutting on anymore. *pretty much.. no ysus or zsus.. cuts on has sound.. plugs in p3 to ysus doesn't work... p3 pins have right voltage.. p1 is all over the place.. can't get a good reading sometimes shows O.L i'm guessing overload for vs test on p1 pins.. *

pretty safe to say it's your Y board then...

First we should test the buffer board...
Can you hook up P1 and P3 as it should, take screws out of the bufferboard and disconnect it from the Y board? You can leave the ribbon cables in,just make sure it's completely disconnected from the Yboard...then turn on tv,same? or turns on,sound works?

ok no difference with the buffer board out... none of the squares *can't remember what they are called atm *look burnt on the bottem side of the buffer board.. that's what was wrong with my last plasma i worked on. so i'm sure the buffer board is good

ok ... so i pull out the ysus and i notice there is some kinda sticky shit all over the back of the board kinda looks like a bunch of flux... it has defiantly corroded some of the solder points.. so i'm sure the board just needs replacing.. *on top of that looking everything else over... there are little dimples in the zsus ribbon cables going to the panel.. i think it's time to give up on this one.. too much at stake..*

TD Systems K58DLX11US no image no backlight, standby green and red alternating
                            by Raulnn
Good afternoon! I have this TV with a Chinese combo plate. The symptom is that you turn it on and the standby LED goes on for a while, alternating red and green. In the end it remains green, but without image and without backlighting. I have measured voltages and they are fine, even the TCON has its correct reference voltages. I think it must be a firmware problem. What do you think?

Samsung UN70NU6070F Standby Light flashes twice
                            by Nicktronic
                            Hey Everyone,

So I've got this Samsung and the reported issue is that when powered on the backlight comes on, but no picture, no sound, it will flicker, the standby light will flash red twice and repeat the whole process...each loop lasts about 15 seconds.

I've googled the issue and understand it is likely a panel/driver board issue, but was hoping the "tape method" could be successful. Before I did that though, I disconnected the left LVDS cable and powered the TV on. This time I got sound, no picture and the two blink standby light stopped. Did the same...

                            LCD TV Green/Pink screen problem
                            by jimjoe123
I have a Dick Smith 37" LCD TV, Model GE6804. I am using it as PC extended monitor only.

Problem is while watching tv, I hear a semi loud click(like a electrical breaker tripping due to overload, just sound like it but no actual electrical overload), then screen is covered with green or pink. I can still see the original picture image but overlayed by green or pink. See attached images. Pink.jpg is what I see, and Normal.jpg is before green or pink screen, What I captured was pink screen, but about 80% of time it's green and 20% of time it's pink.

                            Then each time...

LG 42PC5D green light flashes three times and TV turns off.
                            by HarrySeaward
Can anybody walk me through finding the faulty component?

When I hit the power button, the green light flashes three times and then the TV turns off, with the light going back to red.

There is a relay that clicks immediately upon pressing the power button and then clicks again when the TV turns back off.
