Hello everyone, I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. I have a 46 inch Brick at the moment. The tv is only two years old. The red power light is on, but the tv won't turn on. The light doesn't blink when I try, and the tv makes an audible noise when I hit the power button. I have tried the leaving it unplugged for 24 hours trick. I have opened it up and nothing stands out as being bad. Any suggestions for me? Of course Samsung won't repair it lol. The capacitors are made by samwha the wl variety so my thought was maybe they went bad? (Although they visibly look fine)

What kind of tools do you have? You will have at least test the voltages, and also post good clear pictures of the backside of the TV so we can see how all the boards are connected.

Do you have a Digital meter? Do you know how to read dc voltage and then resistance?
Proper ground referennce for measuring the 5vdc, 12vdc and 24vdc etc, the black lead connects to chasis ground. Set has to have 5vdc or sometimes 3.3 standby volts for the set even begin to work. Check the voltages then let us know. Connectors most of the time are labeled, sometimmes not and this makes it more difficult without schematics

I have an analog meter, better for electrical work, would that still work? So now I have a different problem. The cable box also died at the same time as the tv. (Odd...) I got samsung to come out and fix the tv for free as a one time thing. So it was working today, and while using it & the blu ray player, the player died in the middle of a show. No power light, or anything. All this equipment is plugged into a surge protector. (Still working) I checked the outlet and it is wired correct. The voltage from the out let and the surge protector also both appear to be correct. So what could possibly be causing everything to die on me?
