    Daewoo DLV_32C7SMB Defective backlight

Have confirmed that the inverter is putting out juice (connected a small fluro tube from a hand lantern across the output and it lights OK).
I've never delved into the CCFL tubes of a panel so I decided I've got nothing to lose - it only cost me $25 and if I get it going it will be an OK TV.
The panel is a type LTA320WT-LF2; a Samsung I gather.
So how are the tubes wired in these? I gather it must be in series if one tube has taken out the whole lot? Any advice regards what I should be looking for as I dismantle this unit?

if that's 32inch then the back probably comes off for parallel backlights.
only one tube needs to be screwed for the invertor to shutdown.

got a foto of the invertor?

I've stripped the panel from the rest of the hardware, but I've never done one of these before and I think I've come at it the wrong way around. I came aat it from the front and had separated the LCD panel and then the laminations under that and then I could see some sort of diffuser for the lamps. So I've put that all back to avoid contamination of the screen. Is there some secret I'm missing?

on looking at the invertor i'm not sure now
is the panel edge-lit from the top & bottom?

Don't worry STJ. Looks like it's a write off. This panel appears to use tubes that are integrated into a plastic envelope. No access to individual tubes. Picture attached.
Time to scrap out the useful boards!

i suspect you can strip that.

why not experiment with 12v led strips - the type that comes on reels!

Yes, you are probably right. It would have been a very good experiment. Before I saw your suggestion I'd already stripped it and dumped it. Only so much space in my garage! But if I have the same situation again I think I would give it a go.
