Re: Panasonic TXP50VT30 ysus repair
The SC board was s/c on SC2 caused by all the following components going s/c D421,Q403,Q402,Q401,D401,Q423,Q422 and Q421. Fitted the repair kit and also replaced Q531 and ic502 included in the kit as a precaution. Followed the correct procedure by linking SC50 and the board worked ok without SD and SU connected. Connected SD and SU boards and removed SC50 link. Everything worked fine for 15 -20 minutes then 7 blink error code started again. On checking all the above replaced components had once again gone short circuit.
Any body know the most likely cause for this to happen?Last edited by satinser; 06-08-2014, 11:24 AM.Comment

Re: Panasonic TXP50VT30 ysus repair
Tough one to give much advice on. Bit like knowing why these fail in the first place.
getting 15 -20mins then same failure, makes me wonder whether a part was overheating and then failed, bad earthing screws, or substandard parts/fakes?
Any tech support from the kit provider?
Someone had a moduslink board fail fairly quick, sent it back, got it repaired again and second time round seemed ok. Forget which series, 2011/12?
Not that I'm suggesting getting another kit from the same supplier.
If the picture was fine, I would be inclined to assume the screen and buffers were ok.
Maybe ditch repairing it and see if you can score an original board instead.Comment

Re: Panasonic TXP50VT30 ysus repair
Appreciate your comments. I also belief its heat related which is also I in all probability the reason why they fail in the first place. I bought the repair kit from an Ebay seller but have now ordered individual components from Charles Hyde ( trade seller) and in so doing paid about 50% less.
I belief that the dissipation of heat from the rear of the component to the solder pad on the board is the all important factor that could lead to premature failure if not soldered tight to board. I will have to pay more particular attention to this when the components arrive. I will keep you informed of the outcome.Comment

Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing here🤔?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting 😂.

by SMDFleaCopying DMI information from an old bios to a new one is difficult for some members, often they have no experience with a hex editor,or some that have tried find it too hard. There is an option to make things easier for those members so that they don`t need to post their own bios backup for the DMI copying.
Experienced bios modding members can help by posting in other threads the DMI offsets, macro script generated by the software and a download link to the software at softpedia mentioned in this guide,or post your macros in the comments here with a link to the bios request thread ....-

by CDNBrewerHello Everyone,
I have an Onkyo TX-SR353 Audio/Video Receiver (5.1 ch with HDMI) that I am having a really hard time diagnosing and I'm about to throw this in the junk and go buy a new unit that is on sale until the 7th.
Symptoms:- Intermittent (part of the reason why i'm having a hard time isolating problem), sometimes will work for 10+h at a time without issue
- Original symptom was wife reported loud banging noise (like someone was banging on the wall with their fists) from the LEFT SURROUND speaker and then the unit shut off.
- I swapped the Left and Right surround
