TOSHIBA 42rv530u firmware nightmare !

hi , long story short : just change power boArd on toshiba 42rv530u and whAt iam dealing with now is 3x blinking orange/yellow light ( booting) ...
i findout that i need to download firmware on a sd card and let it boot with it .
toshiba.com doest have those for download anymore any idea where i can downloaded??? and how to do that boot reset

Also , if i get a "new" MB will that fix it?
I mean Tcon board doesnt have anything to do with booting right?

A New Mainboard--May fix the problem--IF thats whats wrong, which at the moment--I'm not convinced....

Why did you change the PSU? What was fault before, and can you be absolutely sure--the replacement is good? (There are many supplied--Untested--even though vendor says it is, so unless YOU saw that PSU actually Work--You can never tell....

What checks have you done? Are the supply voltages from this replacement correct and reasonable?

What other tests have you done?

Who/What tells you it needs some alleged 'update'? If this is the case, How did the firmware get corrupted in the first place?

Thx for reply..
So tv was absolutely death , with good fuses.
So i change power board from tvparts4less.com and now tv power on , click , green light on main board .
After hitting power button tv blinks 3x 3x and than stays green . Just answer technician says that i need new firmware or new MB .
I test most supply pins on new power board and everything good .
So this is it (: any help would be appreciated

Question. Why did you have to replace the power board. Main reason I'm asking is because I had a toshiba not same model though and had a common fault in the power board. I fixed it and the tv would turn on after 3 blinking light and ended up also needing a new main board. So it might not be a firmware thing because I can't see why you would have to flash new firmware for replacing a power board. I haven't heard of that before.

I have a Toshiba 52xv645u with three blinking lights. I replaced the mainboard with one from ebay with no change. I'm not sure if the replacement board was bad or not. I haven't touched it since.

nooooooooo, i cant believed so i just changed main board on this tv and again 3x3x orange blinking light ((((((( WHAT SHOULD I DO??
new power board new main board tv turn on with solid green light and solid green light on main board checked supply voltage and all good
Is flashing firmware the solution ?????!!
and if so where can i find one for this tv ? toshiba.com doesnt have those anymore (

Initially, the Service Manual states that the described 3 blinking yellow LEDs indicate that the Seine module is in the process of booting (but is unable to complete). This module is actually a power detector and it implies that it senses that the power supply board is unable to startup correctly or is producing incorrect/insufficient secondary voltages.

really? the power board what i bought looks good becoase before tv was completely dead , with the new one power on does anybody had this issue ?

ok i dont have a remote control so if i read the manula right then LOGICALLY IT WILL NOT BOOT WITHOUT REMOTE CONTROL PAIRING WITH TV ?????????

omg iam having headache with this what u guys think can the problem be the remote ???

I picked up one of these from the recycler yesterday, one 5w 1.8ohm resistor later and I have yet another TV. It blinks at startup if it has been unplugged. The remote won't work while its blinking. It doesn't need to pair or anything. After a few seconds it goes back into standby and will work with the remote.

During initial testing I noticed 2 fuses on each inverter board have you verified the inverters are getting 24 v supply to turn on backlights?

Hey man--Don't stress!--Its only a TV set! This sorta thing is just parr for the course when learning how these things work.....

During the LED blinking period as well as shortly after when the set fails to start up, check ALL the supplies that are supposed to come from the PSU.

They should all be within 0.5V of whats in the manual, and the 5V supplies within 0.2v Only exception would be the 24V supply--which may be somewhat higher if unloaded.

IF they are all correct, then for some reason--the mainboard is not happy and shutting down PSU. Maybe the backlight isnt running and this would cause the sorta thing you have.....

Maybe you can check that resistor on your original power board and see if it is bad. It may be easier to fix it if your new board has some other fault. Attached pic from shopjimmy with resistor in question circled in red. Like Alastair said dont stress over it, I find troubleshooting tvs very relaxing.

I checked boot process blinks and on mine it gives 3 yellow blinks then pauses and gives 3 yellow blinks then another pause and a final 3 yellow blinks before the light turns a dull green and the set comes on. Hope this helps you out
