    Sharp aquas LC-46E77UN horizontal lines

    Hello,

I have I have a sharp aquas LC-46E77UN that has faint black horizontal lines over the entire screen.
They are on all inputs and menu screens.
They are not visible on a plain white screen.
They do not change in size when screen size is changed.

Does this mean the panel is bad?
    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Erik

It's probably not a panel fault, but then again this is a common problem on some Samsung TVs, so far no resolution with T-con & main board replaced. T-con would be my first guess, but it's a rather hard one to decide on.

      Thanks for the reply Tom!

I was hoping to narrow it down a bit as the main board is costly lol.

I have heard its the display if when changing ratio that the line sizes don't change?

Also heard that if the lines are not on a white screen that it is not the display.

These thin black lines ( actually two thin lines very close together) are so even and over the whole screen with no other issues seams strange, on people's faces and such they are not visible.

I reset the cables to t-con with no change.
Also did not see any bad looking caps on the mother board.
I have seen the Samsung displays with similar lines but they are quite different in appearance.

Hoping to hear from more experts as your self as local techs are all over the board in there diagnosis contradicting each other of course.

      Thanks in advance.

TCL 55S425 few horizontal lines, potential failure on both side of panel/buffer board
        by howardc64
All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
        • TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
        • Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault

        Sharp 50bj2ke horizontal lines
        by jaco2d
This is only my seond post and so far i am very impressed with the forums.
I have a Sharp 50bj2ke which is 6 month out of gaurantee and has devoloped horizontal lines, i have tried to research as much as possible but i am no further is diagnosing the issue. When i turn the tv on it works good with only a thin line right at the top of the screen which i could live with but after a couple hours of use the lines start to appear in the middle of the screen and now the bottom.
The small white box thing in the pics is not the tv its a reflection from the window

        Any suggestions...

Samsung QN70Q6DTA Ghost or horizontal lines after tape fix horizontal line
        by Ihandyrepair
        Hi guys

I just started fixing 4k TV few months ago. so I am still learning a lot
I got this tv from friend complaint is ghosting or horizontal lines on image.

never saw the original symptom but I took the tv back home. the funny part is that after bringing to home, the tv worked fine no issue for 3 weeks.
then it started to show the ghosting white image.
I started using the tape method, but this tv does not have a T con board and it has only 1 ribbon cable from main board to the tv panel.
it has 3 thin small boards at the bottom of the...

Sony XBR-65X750D Horizontal lines bottom of screen
        by ggil44
Hi, I have a Sony XBR-65X750D that has horizontal lines at the bottom 6 inches of the screen. These lines appear to be every other line because the picture is still quite visible behind those lines. The lines appear all the time with a few other lines above and below the 6 inch level blinking on and off at about 2 second intervals. I'm not sure if this is a panel issue or power supply/main board problem. I did replace the T-Con board without any change in the problem. Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Sony XBR-85X950G Gray horizontal lines and vertical picture shift diagnosis?
        by noisykid
5.5 year old 85 inch Sony Bravia X950G started showing gray horizontal lines across the bottom of the screen and the picture shifts slightly vertically when it happens. The lines sometimes get bigger/smaller vertically and bounce back. See the video for the problem. It seems to be happening after it warms up after an hour or so. Happens regardless of source. Right now there's nothing but power cable connected and it's happening. We did hook up a new Nintendo Switch to our HDMI switching receiver today, and played for a while with no issues, but this problem didn't occur til a few hours later while...
