    hitachi p50s601 no clue where to begin>?

    plug it in and it goes from red standby to blue on and nothing?? I attached picture , where do I start?

        This model has a common from with shorted buffers and two large caps on the PSU. However looking on your photo it seems the two 3300uf caps have already been replaced before.

        Start by disconnecting one buffer board at a time and then test if the panel would turn on and you should get half a picture (ie: if you disconnect the top one, only the bottom picture will show and vice versa). However I wouldn't leave it on long like that, I've seen the good buffer go bad if left on too long.

          Thank you. You just helped me learn something I never knew before. People like you help me out a lot... I have been repairing tvs for 5 months now on my own. Didn't know anything and I plan to open a tv repair shop. And I'm learning as I go. Hopefully a yr from now. Ill be ready. I can fix a lcd no problem. But man I'm scared of plasmas

            so now I disconnected buffers one at a time and nothing, the tv used to go from stand by to on and fans kick on for a sec and click off, now it wont even goto on, just stays in standby
