    fixing flat two tv screens

I am trying to fix two flat tv screens. They have problems that I am not familiar how to deal with and if they are fixable at all.

    1) the first TV is RCA 32: LCD combo tv+dvd, model RLCDV3282A-B. It was distorting images in sync with sounds. The sounds were distorted too. Then it was shutting down automatically. I replaced all visible electrolytic capacitors on power supply board. After repair, the image and sound are restored but tv still shuts downs unexpectedly usually after couple of minutes. I do not know what to do next. What might be the culprit and how to trace/inspect the source of malfunction. How to fix this problem.

    2) the second TV is Haier 32" TFT-LED LE32F32200. Everything (image/sound) is okay except it has a little darkened are in left bottom area that takes about 1/4 of the screen. It is more shaded/darkened and one can watch the tv but it is a little bit of annoying and inconvenient. It does not look like capacitor failure in power supply but something else. Changing shade/brightness does not solve the problem. What that might be? What steps should I take to find the culprit? Is it fixable?

    I appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

Post a picture of the Haier screen you speak of, being that it's from around 2013 it's likely bad led/s in the backlights.

I posted photos of Haier tv. The shading occurs in left bottom corner. Could it be a dented polarized glass? Or like you said, backlight is out.

Sure does look like some bad leds in backlights, being 32 it's a lot easier to deal with than the bigger screens, I'd carefully take it apart, (STILL need to be very careful how you remove the panel by not lifting it wrong, if it breaks or cracks it's game over) and check backlights with a multimeter, a ton of how to videos at youtube on the subject.

Guess just for good measure, once you get the panel driver boards exposed, which are sometimes very easy to access and sometimes under a cover of some sort, make sure all the tab bonds are secure and not loose. Can just put a little pressure on where they connect to the long thin driver boards and see if there's a change in display but it's unlikely that and more likely bad backlight led/s.

Issues with new Surface Pro 5 screens
            by diamon
I have three Microsoft Surface Pro 5 model 1796, with all cracked screens.
Have bought from Aliexpress three new screens, the part numbers from my and the seller are the same:

Bad working China screen part number:

Good working own screen part number

Error I get with the bad working China screen:

No error with the good working own screen:

All the three China screens (all the same exact part numbers) produce the same error in Device manager. Have also performed a clean installation...

HP 440 G2 no power after short in flat lcd
            by dclass-pro
Hi all guys, I need your help. On a HP 440 G2 - LA-B181P laptop I was changing the speakers and the pc worked fine everything ok.
After closing it all with all the screws I realized that it would no longer turn on. I opened it and found that the flat cable of the LCD was shorted. I ordered a new flat but the motherboard still won't turn on, as soon as I connect the power supply the connector LED always flashes and the power button stays on.
I tried to check the voltages and the 3v and 5v are there, on the battery pin (with no battery connected) I have about 2v.
            I tried to...

A2337 not working with flat battery
            by reformatt
Looking for some advice on a 820-02016 board as I don't have much experience with these M1 machines. Learning the nuances of them as I go.

So the history of this machine was it had been in a bag where a bottle of water leaked. Presented as dead about a month ago, corrosion was mainly around the battery connector and it's sub-PCB. Some corrosion was noted on the board around UC300, CC325, CW1C7, CW1C8. That was it really.

Now without battery connected, USB-C will stay at 5V and cycle between 0 and 120ma. PPBUS_AON is cycling between 0 to 12.3V. If battery is connected,...

Does anyone know about 16x2 LCD screens used in alarm keypads?
            by Ady2017
I have got an old Gardtec GT595 alarm which has got a faulty keypad with a failed LCD screen. This was apparently a very common problem with these and many people have had to replace the whole alarm because of this problem. Somebody claims to be able to repair the keypads by replacing the screen and I have tried it myself by replacing the LCD with a commonly available HD44780 1602 16x2 Serial LCD screen but it is not working. I am sure it is a problem with a driver or simular which is not allowing the screen to talk to the rest of the electronics. Does anyone know what this original screen was...

Haier HVTB18DABB Wine fridge thermoelectric board - bad caps?
            by Jneub007
Hi! Hope you can lend me some advice.
I am attempting to repair a Haier HVTB18DABB thermoelectric wine fridge. Both fans work, but the temps are not changing in the dual zones. Upon inspection, I believe this cap (pictured) and possibly another may be the culprits - based on the base of the caps and what looks to be dried dark liquid at the base. Assuming that is abnormal?

Do you agree and which product do you suggest replacing with?

Very much appreciated! Let me know if more info needed. ...
