Tell you what I'll do.....

I'll swap you two good boards, Y-SUS and Z-SUS for a 42C450, for the buggered Y-SUS and Z-SUS boards from your LG 42PC1DA,--Provided you haven't de-soldered anything on 'em....

Changed the y sustain and x sustain and I get a flash of lines on the screen then it goes black again

Back to 5-2 blinks? Does that every time? Check -Vsc on Y-main.

Yes every time any the vs drops off it sounds like it's powering up for a second then goes off

Not necessarily I had three sets that only had Y buffer shorts
the clue being lines then going blank.

Oh dear....

Well--I know those boards--Were perfectly fine. I used them for a couple of days, so know they were good.

Have you checked the Buffer-Board for shorts....?

Do buffer issues stuff up the Y-SUS on these...?

No same I get one click from the power board when x sustain out but when it's in it clicks then clicks again

Try this, this is the faults on the 2D version
There are two faults with this set I have repaired six of these now,
I take take it that you have sound but no picture?
if that is the case,

1 Does the relay click once , if so then you have a short on the Y Buffer, if you are in the dark you should see the screen try to start, then go blank.
Replace the Y buffer and all will be well.

2 Does the relay click three times, if so then the Y buffer has shorted, but it has shorted the Two FETS
on the X Main. ( it is the two on the outside of each other on the bank of six RJH30E2 x2 )
These need replacing along with the Y buffer.

Be careful ordering the Y buffer, alot being sold come from cracked screens but some these are faulty,
Of the six I have replaced I have had Ten faulty ones which had to be returned.

This tv is all fixed I replaced the y sustain and the x sustain and the buffer board

Glad to hear the set is working now, but how many boards had to die before the battle was won, they did not die in vain the set lives on Flocko
