    Replaced Y Board and Y Buffers - now no pic/no sound - Samsung Plasma PN58B860Y2F
    by xrey
    Moderator: I hope I'm not breaking forum rules or decorum by posting my original question a different way (my previous thread focused on the low vscan readings - but I'm thinking maybe that's not as relevant and won't get me as far as diagnosing as the fact that I now have no picture or sound.)

    ==========

    We all of the sudden started getting a washed out picture and rainbow colored static/snow.

    Based on research when we got a low vscan reading we decided to replace the y board and y buffers.

    Now I get no picture or sound - TV turns on...

    MSI MS-16W1 no power, EC replaced by other.
    by MicroSMD Lab
    Hi, I'm working on a MSI laptop, Motherboard number MS-16W11, GF-65 Thin 10SDR-459US. Went to another shop because the screen was flickering, but it was working well on an external monitor. The LCD was ordered and the laptop was returned to the customer and it no longer worked. It was then sent to another tech (by the shop who ordered the LCD) and the EC (ENE KB9028Q) was replaced with a donor from another MSI board with different board number and no programming was done. It looks like work was done on PU6 (TPS51225) as well as one of the GPU mosfets was burnt (I removed all three GPU mosfets)....

    Asus FX505DD REV 2.0 no power after someone replaced the cmos battery with a screwdriver.
    by thesame
    I have a dead FX505D, motherboard FX505DD REV 2.0 , the owner replaced the cmos using a screwdriver and he touched something on the board, since then the laptop its not starting, i have managed to see that U8800 (BQ24780SRUYR) charging IC is getting hot under a thermal camera , i have desoldered it but the laptop still doesn't power on, i also have no voltage at power connector on the board. I also replaced the U8800 but still no power. What should i check next?

    HP Probook 640 G5 - replaced blown components, getting power led, fan full, 5-flashes on CAPS Lock and NUM lock, black screen
    by zlr8r
    Hey guys, bit stumped with this laptop after replacing 2 blown components i.e., MP86493, MP2979A.

    To begin with, this laptop was dead-dead.

    Now with replaced (visibly) blown components, i do get some progress; after connecting battery or main cable;
    • am getting white power led
    • 5-long-flashes on CAPS Lock and NUM lock
    • then, fan full speed
    • CPU heats up some (smaller die PCH, does not)
    • always constant black screen no matter what's tried
    • no USB recognition
    • no HDMI output
    this is as far as I can get with it and not sure where to inspect next ?

    I tried...
