Sanyo DP46841 Bad CPU anyone know of source for replacement?

I've spent about 3 days troubleshooting the main board on this TV. It's chassis number is P46841-10 and the part number for the main board is Z5WJ.

I was getting no PS_ON from the main and quickly determined that the 3.3v standby was shorted to ground. The voltage regulator for the 3.3v STBY on the analog board was getting hot so that was where I started. The regulator tested ok off the board so I removed a jumper to disconnect it from the digital main. Then I got 3.3v and it no longer got hot so I knew the problem was with the digital main board.

At this point I then located all of the components which the service manual showed were on the 3.3v stby circuit. I removed every component and all tested OK. I suspected the CPU at this point but wanted to be absolutely certain before I removed it. I then discovered that there were more components on that circuit than the service manual showed schematics for. With a lot of help from Photoshop, I traced out the 3.3v stby circuit. This was not an easy task because it's a layered board. So really I only traced out the surface paths.

In the process I determined that the 1.1v stby circuit also was shorted as well.

After ruling out every other component on the board I pulled the CPU and determined it was the problem. I had also found a shorted diode on the power supply when I first opened the TV so I suspect that was the cause.

So now, after at least 3 days (might have been more because when I get into a project I lose all track of time) I am unable to find a source for a replacement CPU. I'm hoping someone here might know of one.

The CPU is a Zoran ZR39790HGCG

Fixed. New main board was $80. Got lucky too because this turns out to be an internet TV. Supposed to come with a USB dongle though. Anybody know if this would be just an ordinary WiFi dongle? Or would it be something specific for this TV?

Unknown transformer : how to find a good replacement part ?
      by the_rem
      Hello guys,

I would like a quite old but still good 800 W ATX PSU to be repaired. The problem was an extremely heavy coil whine coming from the small secondary transfomer on the PCB.

I desoldered it hoping the references on the upper side would allow me to find a adequate replacement part. Sadly the written references drove me nowhere but to the manufacturer (I-MAG). I sent them a message like a bottle in the see asking them to send me a datasheet of the transformer. And... They responded ! I received a kind of datasheet (see attachment) but my competencies do not allow...

A1708 820-00875 battery drain in stby after SSD replacement by original one
      by Beeldbuisje
the A1708 is famous for battery drain in stby if a non OEM Apple SSD is installed.

Got this machine with a defective SSD, installed an adaptor + 2242 nvme for testing. Works fine, but battery drain in standby; normal behavior.

I ordered a used, but exactly the same SSD (the same Apple part number) second hand (from a macbook with screen issues). Works fine, laptop lasts 10H on one battery charge.

Put them in deepstandby, confirmed by the pmset logs, and drains his battery in less than a week. Better as with an adaptor + nvme, but not the 30 days it...

PS4 controller left stick potentiometer replacement issue
      by ezenia
      Hello,

Not sure if this is the correct section, but I have a PS4 controller that I am trying to fix. It developed stick drift on the left stick and the usual simpler methods did not fix the problem.

So I went on eBay and ordered some replacement potentiometers. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174967976757 is where I got them from.

I took the green potentiometers off the replacement sticks and soldered them onto the PCB. Assembled the controller and ran some tests. The drifting was somewhat fixed (not fully in center, but way better than before). However,...

Macbook pro logic board replacement parts quesion
      by boosti45
i have a 2020 macbook pro 13" A2251 with 820-09149 logic board so i found an issue with chip labeled U6903 according to schem. boardview using flexBV software, so i removed it from the board and the issue im having is that the chip says "07A08FI ELC180" on top of it but when searching for a replacement chip, i can find tons of identical looking chips that also have "ELC180" printed on them but the first set of digits is never the same so im trying to find out if i need this exact chip with these same numbers as mine and if not which ones are compatible as a replacement?...

klipsch kda-500 amplifier suitable power supply capacitor replacement ?
      by r2digital
I have a klipsch kda-500 that would turn on and allow me to get into the web management but it was picking up a lot of noise from audio sources so i decided to replace the smd caps on the power supply along with radial one. Some one was in here before me and they basically burned the bottom side of the traces off for the radial cap but i was able to repair it without any real problem. I thought i did a good job sourcing out replacement caps but apparently not and now i can't get the power supply to turn on it just constantly try's to keep turning on. Attached is a picture of the power supply before...
