SONY KDL-52W5150 No Picture, Sound and Menu are Ok

    Hi Guys,

Need some help with my only SONY KDL-52W5150 TV. The TV work till yesterday just fine. Today I tried to watch a movie but no picture on the screen. The sound is fine and menu works fine too. Was reading the Martin's guide, and looks like I have a bad T-con, not really sure if that is the problem.
I have 2 devices connected to my tv: computer (hdmi1) and comcast box (hdmi2). Both of them have no picture. I like to fix things and for me not a problem to open the tv and do something with it.

After 5 hours of trying it start working again. Don't understand the reason but I hope it will work 3 more years.

In your case, I would reset (remove and replace) all connectors. Inside and out. And check for bad solder joints on the boards.

If your menus work the Tcon is fine. This is a mainboard fault. Do you have a snowy picture on tuner mode ptr can you get a picture with composite video (yellow red white connectors) or component inputs? If so your HDMI codec processor is failing or failed on the mainboard.

Did I leave the soldering iron on?
