    Sharp 55A6130UWG1830J8 won’t power on

I have a neighbor who brought me this TV to see if I can repair it for him. When the TV is plugged in you get a red power light, when you press the power on the TV or remote the light blinks, goes out, then back to solid red, there is nothing on the screen during this no logo, no sound, no backlight or anything. Took the back off and nothing jumps out to me capacitors all look good. Where would I start in diagnosing the problem? Thanks in advance!

What Voltages do you have on this connector while the TV is plugged in but off?

I don't have my meter at home at the moment. I will get it and check those voltages.

Was given advice on a Facebook tv repair group that my problem was the main board, found a main board purchased and tv still does not function properly but has different symptoms than it originally had. When you plug in and power up the tv now the red power light goes out like normal and stays out as if the tv is on but I have no picture sound or backlight (no picture with a flashlight shined on the screen). If you try to power the tv down it will not power down you have to unplug it to power it down. I will get the voltages requested when I get the chance but just wanted to update

ok so finally got time to set aside to work on this TV I was remodeling a home and didn't have the time to look at this. I will list the voltage at each pin with tv plugged in but off, going from top to bottom or using the above photo right to left.

          1. 0v
          2. 0v
          3. 49v
          4. 48v
          5. 0v
          6. 0v
          7. 29v
          8. 29v

I think its possible you only probed the top set of pins. There are 16 total. The top 8 are easy to get to via the pins going into the board. That said the 29V measurements should probably be 12V since that's what's marked...Also - pin 6 is the standby Voltage and while I am no expert I believe it should be higher than zero.

You are correct. I missed the other 8 I flipped the board over plugged it in and got the readings.

below in the same order are the other 8 readings.

              1. 0v
              2. 0v
              3. 0v
              4. 0v
              5. 0v
              6. 0v
              7. 32v
              8. 0v

the first readings were for the outside set of 8 pins these are the readings for the inside 8 pins. All with tv plugged in but powered off.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? Since I took a while to get the readings and get back to this thread I'll recap it in case anyone has any ideas. When you power Tv on red power light flashes goes out then right back to solid red like it is when the TV is off, I did by a replacement main board because of recommendations from another site and it was not the problem. TV still does not work with the new board. I was asked to get readings off the 16 pin connector from the photo above. Starting with the readings from top to bottom for the left column and going then top to bottom on the right column this is with the tv plugged in but power off.

                1. 0v
                2. 0v
                3. 49v
                4. 48v
                5. 0v
                6. 0v
                7. 29v
                8. 29v

                1. 0v
                2. 0v
                3. 0v
                4. 0v
                5. 0v
                6. 0v
                7. 32v
                8. 0v
