Check supply voltages with ysus and Zsus disconnected and main still connected. On sustain boards the VA is just passive. Goes directly to x buffers on the bottom of the panel. Hopefully your panel is not shorted loading down the VA circuit.

the 50 screen was roasting hot from the rear

and I could not use pc with screen shutting down so took psu from 50 put in a 42 same model make and the va still down its at 12.5 as I turned it from 15v at the mo with a bad image but no shut downs yet

so it may be psu then but what loads down va on psu

now my meter is running low but still measures the vs could be a a low battery problem on meter im going to see how this fares out on the 42 if its fine going to up the va to 15v again so picture gets better

on a side not say I was getting wrong reading from meter due to battery

would a high va heat the screen to really BLOODY hot and cause the shutdowns

Va at 12.5V, are you sure? Maybe you mean Vg?

I think Va and Vg are on same transformer. Adjusting one causes other to change.

Be absolutely very careful to set Va exactly to panel sticker.

The panel would definitely NOT work with a Va of only 15V, it would just be mal discharged (weak, sparkling image) or no image at all apart from glow screen.

Va is around 50V to 75V.

If set too high, it's easily possible to kill the plasma panel. So be VERY careful while doing it!!

right going to recheck everything and report back had no issues with power board in 42 so far so we will see I may have had the va to high

Samsung TV model UE50TU: rebooting, backlight, sound, but no picture
                by TR103
                Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
                - sound and backlight, but no picture
                - when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
                - it keeps rebooting
                - without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
                - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
                - when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

                - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered...

SAMSUNG UN55KS9000F picture fades then distorts into vertical lines after 20 seconds
                by JJAAMM
This was my main TV for the last 6 years. I'm not inclined to throw out a $2600 TV so quickly so I'm trying to investigate the issue.

                Problem
TV was disconnected from power for 6 months during construction. When I plugged it yesterday picture was fine, after 30 seconds it dimmed then started developing horizontal lines, picture then starts to ghost vertically until it degrades into vertical streaks. TV always displays a perfect picture when cold. I can unplug TV for 5 minutes and plug it back in and picture is restored for 20 seconds. I can also keep it in standby mode...

Samsung UN60EH6000F Black Screen, Backlight and Sound Good. Power Cycle Returns Picture
                by Mgiffune
I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and
                ...

                Hello all,

This is my first post, but long term lurker on the form learning as much as possible about these TV's. I was given this TV as due to a power outage of constant On/off of power to TV. The TV originally would just click on and off (Typical Reboot Cycle). I opened the back of the TV, and troubleshooted by taking the 96 pin LVDS off one at a time to see if I had a picture on either side. I finally fixed the reboot cycle by finding the error on the left side of the screen off connector CN 1301, and the TV would stay on. Further troubleshooting led me to the driver boards where...
