    sony kdl-52w5100 tcon issue

    so I got this tv and has sound and back lights no video. TCon is good and I'm receiving 12 volts to the t-con board if I pull one ribbon connector I get a brief white line on each side of the screen so the screen I believe is goodI've read up on other post that econ board fails this way on this TV but I'm trying to figure out what on the board has failed the regulators are all showing proper voltageso maybe someone can chime in as to what to look at on this board it could be just a failed processor which would render the board useless but I like to see if I can repair it.

    Did I leave the soldering iron on?

      okay so I kinda answered my own question. I started hitting the left side of the t-con board first with hot air and wouldn't you know it screen came on now I let it cool down and the screen still comes on it must have been either a bad connection on the board as in maybe heating it up fixed it like cold solder joint or I need to give it more time to cool down I seem to have this problem with other Sony t-con board in the past
      Did I leave the soldering iron on?

          Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me with this issue before I give up on this TV.

          In short, I replaced the T-CON board due to an error code indicating that was the problem, after which it flashed a green and orange LED meaning software update required. I cannot get the tv to do the required update via USB, so I am stuck.

          Here is a rundown of the symptoms and the steps I have taken to troubleshoot:

          I inherited the TV with the symptom that it would turn on, then turn off after 5-10 seconds and a red LED flashed 4 or 5 times. Sometimes it would be 4, sometimes...

          The TV shows a black screen with no image.
          TCON ribbon connectors were disconnected individually for image and there was no half image even.
          Later both ribbons were disconnected and TCON voltages were tested.
          12V, 3.3V, 1.8V were seen present but VONE signal reads 0V.
          There is also a short to ground in this circled inductor.
          Is this a TCON issue or something else ?...

          For anyone interested just repaired this Sony Main board TV that had a 2 blink error code, the chassis is a RB2G which is common to quite a few different Sony models. The Ceramic 10uF 25V X7R 1206 capacitor C9114 was shorted which took the smd 2A 0603 fuse out F9101. This was powering the Buck converter TPS54332 which caused no 5V output from it.
          See the attached picture of the locations of both components. I also attach the best service manual I found for this board for anyone else in a similar position of trying to repair this main board. It's not specific to the TV model however it gives...

          Help Needed: Samsung UE55MU8000 Dead - Possible Main Board Issue

          Hi everyone,

          Im looking for some advice regarding my Samsung UE55MU8000 TV with main board model BN94-11606C. The TV suddenly stopped turning on and now shows no signs of life at all not even the standby light at the bottom.

          Initially, I suspected an issue with the PSU, so I took it to a repair center. They tested it and confirmed that the PSU works perfectly, even on other TVs. Based on that, I started investigating the main board.

          I disconnected the main board from the PSU, and the backlight turned on, which seems to confirm the main board is the issue....
