Troubleshooting Vestel TV, has standby, but cannot turn ON

    Hello,
I need advice in troubleshooting Telefunken TV (it is actually Vestel). There is red Standby light but TV cannot be turned on either by remote control (which is good and tested on another TV) or by actual on/off switch at the back of the TV.
Power board is Vestel 17IPS71 and I'm not sure about the mainboard, it seems like 17MB82S
Both boards are shown in the attached photos.

What is normally first that is checked in this case. I have removed power board, make sure it has no dangerous voltage on the big caps and check many components (transistors and diodes) for short. Everything seems fine. There are no bulged caps visually.
In these cases, what is more probable, for problem to be on power board or the mainboard?

    Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Here are the info I could find:
Hitachi model: 32HYC01, manufactured date: 1510
On the white sticker on the metal chassis I see: Model: VES315WNDB-2D-NO2
There is also the following information on the PCB board HV320WXC-200_X-PCB-x0.0, HV320WHB

Do you even have a programmer to program spi flash?

I do have ch341a and I used it few times to read and write BIOS dump files but only in laptops. Never used anything like that in TVs.

Why do you thik it is firmware issue? Are there some things I can check with multimeter to be sure that hw components are okay?

Hi i missread your first post i thought you had tried your power supply in another set and it was fine after re reading the first post i now notice its the remote control you have tried on another tv and the remote is fine so yes we need to rule out the power supply first by checking all the voltages etc. The only reason i mentioned firmware was the mainboards do suffer from issues but thats usually indicated by a flashing standy led yours is solid red.

Thank you vinceroger69, after reading your reply, I decided to change electrolytic caps on low voltage side even though there were no visible bulges or any deformity. I have replaced 35V, 25V and 16V caps and it indeed solved the issue.
Thank you for your reply, it indeed pointed me into right direction.
