    Lg50pg3000 not working

Mt tv packed up on Christmas night so I decided to take it apart today.
I was watching it and then it just went black.i have taken out the top buffer and the bottom of the screen now comes on but if I press menu nothing comes up.
I am going to change buffer pcb but is there anything else I should look out for
    Any advice
    Cheers

Can you supply pictures of the circuit boards in the chassis? Buffer board failure is particularly common on these sets.

OK, top left of plasma panel (https://www.badcaps.net/forum/attach...2&d=1388265614), there is a sticker, marked: MODEL: PDP50K1##### (for example) What does your say?

OK, the manual for your plasma module (note: not TV, but the screen inside the TV with all the boards) is here, search for 50G1 to find the right page:

With both buffers installed refer to the test points for Vsc and -Vy and confirm if the voltages are good.
Then remove one buffer at a time and see if a voltage returns, if it is missing.

You must use a digital meter and make sure to unplug the TV for at least 30 seconds before making -any- connection change.

Do I test these test points to earth and what voltage should I get. I have a fluke meter so should be able to test them

You measure -across- the points indicated with the black and red as specified.

I have 154dc across by and 135 across vsc with the top buffer out.
I have no voltage with across them with top buffer in place

154V? Are you sure? Not 194V?
But yes looks like top buffer is bad.

Just to make sure are you testing across the resistor marked Vy? If so yes try adjusting it up although I would not expect this to restore picture.

                                Cheers for the help

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

                                  Hello,

i have many 5050sff. all of them, and how i experienced over many years for all about 250 DELLs goin through my hands, are fully flashable and can be serviced in any way when the service_mode jumper is set.
Never ever i experienced problems with that.

Now i have one 5050sff machine, where this jumper isnt working at all.
I do not get the normal messge that the jumper is set when booting and a short test with FPT just confirms this. Everything is locked -->> EVEN for reading !?

The history of the machine is that i used it in my office...

                                  by DynaxSC
                                  Hi,

I have the above mentioned bord after repair, which was related to a lot of missing smd devices on the back of the board.
There were almost 20 devices missing, caps, resistors and some diodes/mosfets.
The board is generally working now, all PCIe ports are working, Windows installs normally.

However I have a problem with SATA ports 4-7 (the board has 8 SATA ports) - disks are not beeing recognized by the BIOS neither by Windows (which is usually normal in case BIOS does not recognize them).
The SATA 4-7 driver network is quite simple chipset<->buffers/drivers<->SATA...

Touch ID was working before, there is no error message during scanning fingerprint it's just not scanning on screen you can see only fingerprint but there are no red updates as when it's working. Power button is working fine.

I've checked boardview and also schematics but i'm not able to find anything related to TouchID ... i have similar issue on a2338 where there was problem with PP3V0_TOUCHID and after replacing UT610 it was working but here i'm not able to find anything related to...
