    Universal Remote Control?

Of the 3 TVs I have worked on none have came with remotes. I also notice alot of ads on craigslist for "repairable" HDTVs don't include an original remote.

I have tried a cheap RCA with the current TV I am working on (Insignia NS-LCD37), but only Power On/Off, Channel Up/Down, and Volume Up/Down works.

When looking on ebay for original remotes they tend to be $15 on up. $15 isn't to bad for a remote, but if you have a TV where the original remote is $25+ it would be nice if there was a cheaper universal alternative.

Are there any cheap universal remotes that will allow you to change inputs, use the menu, and sleep timer functions?

    thanks

I've had good success with One for All URC3940. It seems to support a good deal of branded TVs, though I haven't tried any with off brand sets. I can get them for about £5 each. (That's about $8.) This is much less than other remotes cost.
