Here is the story about the LCD TV I bought this set in 2008 and work good for about 1 1/2 later on day it would NOT turn off so I call the tech to fix it and they said that they have had problem with these switches on the side of the set The Tech disconnected the switch board try this for a few day and see if you still have the same problem turning the TV set off that work just find that way
So Tech try to order the switch board they could not find one so they gave me the money back for the TV set and prorated the extended warranty refund
So I use the set with just remote for 3 years then the remote about a month ago one day just stop working THIS IN NOT GOOD The switch board is not hook up
I got a new LG 55" LCD TV [ and yes I did get a extended warranty ] for Christmas
I want to use the set that has the problem with the switch in my office the LCD TV in the office now is only a 19" to small
So I took this set apart to see if the switch board was bad or not it was GOOD
I took an ESR meter and start checking the caps on the power board and found the ones that are from 100uf down to 1uf had a value 2 time to 3 time the value a new one of the same UF value
I check the caps on the control board and found the same problem it had about 50 or more small value caps I only replaced the one that where near the power supply
I may have to soon or later have to replace all of the other caps------> but this board is a double side and a BIG PAIN IN THE A-- to replace caps on
Now the TV set turn ON and OFF every time I push The switch
