LG 50PA4500 plasma thin black vertical lines

A friend dropped her one year old tv off on my workbench, I've never diagnosed a plasma before and it seems like I'm the first to tear down this model.
Dark or shined stuff appears green while bright and whites appear pink, there're evenly spaced thin black vertical lines, every second line is less pronounced. I'll let my picture explain the rest, please help!

Apparently usually just a loose LVDS cable between main board and control board on these models, at least that applies to 42".

Thanks for the tip, simply removing that cable and replacing it changed nothing. I will get some cleaner and start checking all connections. If anyone has another idea I'll be here working, your input is valued.

Can you post a picture of the control board? It's a green board, about in the middle, connecting to the main input board and the sustain boards, among others.

OK, do you see the two holes in the board, and just below, a marking "EXT_AUTO_GEN"? Place a wire jumper between the holes, and unplug the LVDS cable. You should get test patterns on the display when the TV is powered up.

the thin black vertical lines are present through the test patterns, I'm not sure of what they're suppose to look like.

The first two moving patterns are definitely distorted.

This confirms the control/logic board is bad.
                      Should look like:

Is there any chance that flashing the board will correct the problem?

Well, you can try it, but I see these boards as being available from as little as $12:
                          http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trks...at=0&_from=R40

So I'd just put $12 in it and try it.

                            Thanks a bunch,
It's was $40 shipped from USA, I could have got it from a less reputable seller, I didn't need to expedite the international shipping or get the 180 day warranty but it's for a friend. I'll update this thread when I have some results!

                                by Stanley1843
Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

Thin stable coloured vertical lines on Samsung UN65NU6900FXZC come and go
                                by polaro
                                Greetings,

I've bought a used Samsung UN65NU6900FXZC LED TV. It worked fine for some time and then developed, at first, a single very thin (1 pixel) vertical stable blue line, from top to bottom, close to the left edge of the screen. Now it's 3 lines on the left. When I connect HDMI sources the number of the thin lines grow. After disconnecting and cold discharging I am back to 2 lines. The lines disappear at a rate of 15-20 minutes per line. So it does not look like a damaged LED panel. Any advice? Thanks...

This is my 2nd broken TV I'm trying to fix and haven't been able to figure out... currently going without any working TVs so am hoping to be able to fix one..

This Samsung PN50B430P2D Plasma has this big block of vertical lines which will fade in shortly after turning the TV on. The lines will sometimes flicker a bit or fade in/out and sometimes it just stays present. The length of time it takes them to appear varies, sometimes its a few minutes and other times it appears immediately after powering on.

I have attached an image of the TV with these bars displaying....

Hello there, ive recently found an older 55inch Samsung SmartTV.
Sadly it has vertical lines at the left and one line in the middle-right.

I have already tested out the connections and have looked at the soldered ribbons of the LCD panel to see if some contacts got loose by pushing them a bit but with no success.
I have factory resetted the TV as well but also with no luck.

I am afraid that it is indeed a LCD Panel issue but there are NO scratches or any impact-marks..

A similar issue has been posted as well but also with no actual response ...
