Beware of Buying incomplete Service Manuals

I just paid for and downloaded a Service Manual for a Samsung
UN55D6003SFXZA. It had alot of stuff but not a single board schematic. I was pretty mad. I sent them a email and contacted paypal. If the Service Manual does not include a board Schematics it should state so before buying.
Other than that it was not real informative. It does not come close to the quality of older Samsung Service and Training manuals that I have downloaded for FREE. I am find it almost impossable to get newer TV service manuals without paying and that is no guarantee that a Schematic is included. Some will state it others will not.

Re: Beware of Buying incomplete Service Manuals

Samsung stopped producing schematics past their C-series as far as I know. I believe they only want people to board swap now.

Dell XPS 8940 | Manufacturing Mode? | No Service Tag
      by AustinCER
Hello, I currently have a Dell XPS 8940 in our office for repair.
      Service Tag: HG1Y673
The most recent BIOS is pictured below -- being available as an .exe on Dell website.

Needed a new motherboard due to power surge. The motherboard replacement was installed and upon power up it was booting to a display message - Manufacturing Mode Active -

Have not dealt with this issue before or what the proper steps are. I booted to the BIOS and manually entered the Service Tag, but upon each reboot -- the service tag is wiped and shows the Manufacturing Mode display message,...

Panasonic part number in service manuals
      by Yanleb
In the Panasonic service manuals, both in the board schematics and in the part listing, the part numbers that are given are Panasonic part numbers instead of the actual part numbers.

This is especially annoying for small SMD components like diodes and transistors when you only have 1-3 digits printed on the component body.

For an example, look at the attached PDF.

Do you have a way to cross reference the Panasonic part number with the actual part number?

      Thanks....

Philips 37HFL5682L/F7 no standby light, incomplete service manual?
      by jasonbay13
picked up a tv and when the power is plugged, the standby light flashes real quick then goes off. of 3.3, 12, 24v is all there but i couldnt find any 5v on the back-end board. ON/OFF is low, which it seems is what turns on the backlight so i removed the wire at the back-end board and put a 10k resistor to the 3.3v, which when plugged in brings on the backlight for a split second and also a blue light "LED1" on the inverter board, which goes off after a short time.
am i missing something to bring on the backlight or is the inverter/ccfl gone bad? would that cause the inverter board...
