Re: Panasonic Plasma TC-P50GT30 7 blinks SC board shorted
Hello,
New member here with 2011 TC-P50GT30 and 7 blinks.
Thanks to all the info here I have confirmed that the SC board is bad with all the 6 transistors shorted out. Q531 read open between the legs as listed by tw2005 with my meter on 20M range, but I have short on the two outside ones (the side with 3 legs). I am assuming it is bad??? IC724 looks good. Since I need to fix my TV quick I have ordered new board, but still may try to fix my original one, possibly for future use since the kits are still available.
Please let me know if I am missing anything else to check.
Thanks

Ok, i buy a repair kit for my SC board. Il will wait for the SD board.
I hope that i will not scrap my repaired sc board when i will plug it.
I dont know if a defect sc board can cause a horizontal bar but not scrap the SD.
I will return to you when i Will receive my pieces ans fix the sc
Thanks
If you still have a defect on the lower buffer then you may have to look into it then.Leave a comment:

don't know, 2.6K would be correct as the 78M05 regulator has that resistance which ids the 5v supply and I suspect you are on the wrong pin on the other board? If it's working fine, forget about it.Leave a comment:

There were no screws in the kit (but I knew that prior to buying it). I did not have any washers at disposal but I'll probably add some soon. What i did is add some threadlock before mounting all screws back. I'll probably add washers in a near future and put some threadlock again.
Anyway, it's working, at a fairly low cost, and I've also got the new board I found at a good price, waiting in a drawer. So I'm prepared for (nearly) anything :-)
I'm getting mixed up with you and tehe other poster with the kits , thought you got the screws too.Leave a comment:

Re: Panasonic Plasma TC-P50GT30 7 blinks SC board shorted
A little update: I've received the repair kit from the UK. I replaced all 6 blow MOSFETs and 1 diode (DAF30A) which showed a significant difference in Vdrop with the new one.
I tested all combinations of legs for the 2 small SMD components (Q5xx and IC701), they were similar between previous and new ones, so i decided to give it a go. The TV works like a charm!
Thansk for your help, especially tw2005 ;-)Last edited by tw2005; 12-11-2014, 06:04 PM.Leave a comment:

Why don't you just disconnect the SD from the SC and also the ribbon between the SD/Su and measure the points I highlighted in the picture.Leave a comment:

Re: Panasonic Plasma TC-P50GT30 7 blinks SC board shorted
I think my meter can go up to 40 M
When I test the junction of R696-r9=699 I have 4M (not stable)
to pin 3 of IC 724 2.6K (stable)
When put on sound mode for continuity, no sound for short
other test can I do ?Leave a comment:

What have you got to do the test? How high can your meter go for resistance?Leave a comment:

Was the grey bar going from the top to bottom of the screen, or from the left to the right?Leave a comment:

by jm1234Hi,
anyone able to provide the service manual for old plasma Panasonic TX-P42ST50E?
It turns off almost immediately (0~5 seconds after pressing the on/off button) and starts flashing the red diode 6 times.
I disconnected the left-hand side board (SC?, both the ribbon cable and the power cable to it) and also another ribbon going to bottom left board. Then the led signal is 8 flashes. According to service guide to another Panasonic plasma it would mean the left-hand side board is faulty. But I'm not sure it 100% applies to my model.
I checked that board for any obvious faults... -
by AlicatHello,
Stopped by this site trying to fix my parents Panasonic Plasma TV.
Model number is TH-50PZ85U
Power comes on and the red power light stays on solid.
Did a few checks like hold the power button on for 60 seconds, hold the - Volume while holding the menu button, no luck, still@ blank grey screen as the screen lights up very vague.
I also hear a few clicks.
I also think my parents said there was a thunderstorm and the TV failed after that.
Section 6 in the service manual talks about power and no screen,...10-30-2024, 10:09 AM -
by YanlebHi every one. I just want to share the successful repair of my shorted Panasonic TNPA4782AB SC board.
I don't usually do it but so many parts were shorted that I decided to buy the ShopJimmy repair kit instead of sourcing each components individually. Here is the list of components the kit contained, with a remark indicating if I needed that part or not :
D608, good
D618 RF101L4S, good (See warning 1 below)
D619 RF101L4S, good (See warning 1 below)
D865 RF101L4S, shorted (See warning 1 below)

by nick31Hello,
My Oct 2012 panny plasma quit working yesterday.
It was on when it happened. It let out a bit of burned plastic/circuit board smell. I was not able to find any burned parts though.
Now it produces 8 blinks. According to the repair manual, that points to SS/SS2 board(s).
I completed the steps in the guide: unplugged SS33, the TV turned on with a black screen, no blinking codes. Then I checked the continuity between pins 1 and 2 of the connectors SS52, SS54-SS57. The continuity is ok in all of them. Guide suggests to replace SS/SS2 boards so I placed an order... -
by BiruslapioBought this TV used not working, panel flashed briefly on power up and it was blinking 8 times, a quick look on SS board revealed a common fault on the 3uF 250V capacitors, C201 to C205 (C1620X in the service manual), the solder joints were all cracked, C201 and C205 pins were darkened and some sparking had occurred on them, C201 was split open and clearly overheated in its last hours, replaced that one and resoldered the others, 8 blinks fixed.
Also the previous owner broke the antenna connector by taking the TV out of the wall mount forgetting to unplug it, I desoldered the tuner... - Loading...
