    tc-p55ut50 a board oopsie

    Well after completing my installation of the mainboard retrofit into the tc-p50u50 somehow while the tv was on the aluminum heat sink came off the main ic and touched something on the mainboard. Now I get sos 5. However if I install the original tc-p50u50 board the tv works. So think I pinpointed it down to a small smd component off pin 8 of a voltage regulator right at the area where the heat sync came off and touched. Its small looks like a resistor or pico fuse of some type. Its obly marking is a y. its open. Don't know if it is a resistor or a capacitor or a fuse. In another part of the board there is a component of the same characteristics labeled x. This is reading 0 ohms. What is this component with a Y?
    Did I leave the soldering iron on?

    Anyway, Assuming we're talking about pin 8 on IC8704, the "Y" component is labelled as a fuse PA8704. The Panasonic number is K5H5022A0031 and the 15V feeds into the regulator via that fuse.

    I've had no luck trying decypher it except it appears a number of panasonic boards have that fitted on the 15V line. Maybe you have a totally dead A-board to steal from.


    Hopefully there's a SMD fuse guru on this forum?

    Only a few dollars if you want to order a genuine item or take a punt on the rating as i have no idea.

    If we knew the brand you may work it out.

    Panasonic makes SMD fuses but normallyif it was a Panasonic item the real part number is used.

    I found this datasheet but the part numbers don't come close, I suspect markings will be manufacturer specific any dependant on the physical size too??

      Guess what I found,this

      It looks like an import record of spares from china to india, so it very well could be correct.

      I was looking at the bourns datasheet which gave the y marking as 32v 5a but I did not see an X so I discounted it as correct.

      Is this data correct? I don't know.

        I did get a hit for K5H4022A0031, 4A 32V but that excel sheet is corrupted but the search hit does help to reinforce the 5A 32V data.

          Way cool thanks! This board has an issue anyway. I may have to reflow the bga on the processor anyhow. After the board warms up there is some slight line flicker horizontally on the screen. Can be seen mostly when the osd is up. Thats why I originally took the heat sync off. When I cool the chip the issue goes away.
