Mitsubishi LCD LT-40134 vertical lines left side

    Hi everyone,
My $1600 Mitsubishi 2008 LCD LT-40134 has solid vertical lines that start 3.5 inches from the left edge and continue for 14 inches, which is exactly middle of screen. They are not on the screen when the tv is first turned on. They typically appear after the set has been on for 30 minutes or longer, and do not disappear. What do you think the problem is, and could a mediocre handyman repair it himself?

    Thanks for any help!

    Jim

Look up "tab bonds". You have to tear down your tv and see if these cables are not making good contact. In my case they were simply overheating and cooling them down restored the picture.

      Screen Display Vertical Multicolor Lines
      by Stanley1843
Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

TCL 55S425 few horizontal lines, potential failure on both side of panel/buffer board
      by howardc64
All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
      • TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
      • Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault

LG 82UN8570AUD ~ TCON or PANEL?
      by kca
      Hello all ~

Hope this finds you well. This LG 82UN8570AUD (April 2021 model) 4K UHD television has full audio capabilities but video is compromised / problematic.

When I picked up this large LG tv it had a full black screen upon startup. Previous owner said it just went black one day. No popping sound or anything else of note.

I got the display to work by taping off several traces of the right-hand side ribbon cable on the TCON that leads from TCON to PANEL. However, despite dozens and dozens of attempts to find the right combination / range of traces taped...

      by pni
Hi guys…I need your help. My cousin ask me to fix her tv. The tv when I went to pick up showed 3 horizontal black line. So I know it was a bad panel issue but I could try to fix with the tape method so I said her I could fix easy. The lines never disappear. When the right side is plug in I don’t have nothing on the screen only this vertical lines, when the right side is unplugged I have picture...

Samsung QN75Q6FNA backlight no display, red LED blink 2x, fault in panel
      by howardc64
      • Prior owner tried a replacement main board. No difference.
      • Samsung 2x red blinking standby LED = panel fault
      • Jumpered FB_TRDY_1 (pin 1 CN1300 left. main tcon->left side buffer boards) and FB_TRDY_3 (pin 95 CN1301 right. main tcon->right side buffer boards) This allows testing individual T-Con (on main board) connection to panel on this Samsung. Found fault on left side (viewing from rear of TV)
      • Each side has 2 buffer boards, disconnected left side flex between 2 buffer boards. Fault is on the left most board.
      • Tape masking eventually isolated to CN1300 pin 15 (CKV4_GOA) Display
