lg 50pg4000 loses sound remote stops working and switches off

hi all I have a strange problem

after this set been on a small while the sound goes or almost straight away then it wont respond to the remote and maybe switch itself off

any thoughs

Have you even done some voltage checks? What about the headphone or digital audio output. does that cut out?

ill do them now from psu
to main and ill do al others

You should do such checks as a matter of troubleshooting any electronics, regardless of fault, unless you are -certain- it is not related to the power board.

All voltages appear OK.
Next step check headphone and digital audio out.

can you tell me how tom please
also will all this stop the remote working and shut it down if keep using the remote

the tv light flashes but nothing is done
ie if I press vol up led flashes on tv but no vol bar appears and if I keep messing with remote tv shuts down

How to test a headphone output? Hint, it involves a pair of headphones and careful listening...
Digital audio out do you have a 5.1 AV Receiver, soundbar, etc?
It might be entering e.g. hotel mode automatically for some reason.

Menu on buttons, Menu on remote. Hold for 10 seconds. If password pops up, enter 0000 or 1234.

I'd suggest heating up things as well to see if it's a main board fault. I think main board fault is extremely likely.

I only have a heatgun tom I could use low setting but where would I try heating up



so you think x and y are fine ldvs and all buffers are ok you think main board

You don't own a hairdryer?
LVDS, Y-sus, Z-sus, Y-buffer, panel etc wont have anything to do with sound.
Only possibility is PSU or Main, and you ruled out PSU.
Try service reset from service menu before you swap main.

heres a thing its a 50pg4000 but it has the pg6000 main board in

That may or may not cause issues, but sounds like the board has been previously replaced.
One other thing to check is if the set has a separate board for the buttons try disconnecting that.
