Re: panasonic viera red half screen
Test patterns are generated on these sets by BOTH the A and D board. Each has different test patterns. The white AGING test, which is slightly tinted, is generated by the A board, as are a few others. The gradient, colour bar, solid colour, 10% fill/50% fill patterns and the scrolling bar are generated by the D board.
This is different to most TVs. I'm glad Panasonic did it this way as it makes diagnosing the board easy.
Refer to this document for more information.
If that board is from the PZ85, it should fix it. If it's a PZ80, no guarantees. Remember to match the part suffix to your current D board as well. Part suffix printed near part number e.g. TNPA9999 AW. You must match both TNPA9999 and AW.

Re: panasonic viera red half screen
The D board. I think that's what you mean by LVDS. It's marked "D". Refer to service manual for diagram of boards.

Re: panasonic viera red half screen
85 is different panel, better black level and motion performance. Maybe will work but cannot be certain. Seem to remember there being a surplus of '80 boards as they rarely fail. Generally quite reliable sets too.Leave a comment:

will this one work its for the 80 not the 85 but cant seem to find a 85 anywhere in ukLeave a comment:

Re: panasonic viera red half screen
The D board generates most of the patterns internally, so if the noise affected ALL the patterns, then the D board is definitely faulty.Leave a comment:

Re: panasonic viera red half screen
any info on the d board checks etc tests could the ldvs stil cause this or defo bad d boardLeave a comment:

Re: panasonic viera red half screen
Check them by all means, but don't adjust them unless you have to.
High Vsus typically causes overblown image (too white) or blue sparkles. Low Vsus causes pink discolouring. On these panels at least.Leave a comment:

Re: panasonic viera red half screen
If you got those lines with the D board tests, the D board is bad.
The Vs and Vda(=Va) would not cause this. Whatever you do, do NOT touch Vda or you can kill the panel! The -Vad, Vscn and Ve cannot cause this either. Neither can buffer boards SU/SD or sustain/scan board SC or sustain SS. It's between A & D and given you isolated A, by doing testpatterns (and all showed noise right?) the D is bad.
though maybe vs va to high
I seen that behaviour before on old goodmans gtv when you messed with vs the panel would flick and click then switch offLeave a comment:

Re: panasonic viera red half screen
You can:
Hold VOL- on set and press 0 three times on remote. Release VOL-.
Wait some seconds... screen should flicker and service menu should pop up.
Press RED twice to get initial pattern then RED for each subsequent pattern. Note some patterns are generated by A board, but most by D board.Leave a comment:

by Zelek11My Panasonic Plasma model P55VT50 has started displaying "interference" on just the left half of the screen only (left when facing the screen). Sometimes it's concentrated in about the first 30 seconds after startup, then disappears. Other times it's fine at startup and then randomly does it later on. When it flashes the interference it's very quick and doesn't stay on the screen unless it flashes repeatedly in a row.
This image is a screen shot from a video I took. This is an example of the interference at its worst. Often the interference is much smaller...10-14-2022, 04:54 PM -
Hi,
Trying to work out if this is TFT problem or TCon issue.
The TV powers up but the top half of the screen, from the right it is OK, but as you look across to the left halfway across it starts get duller and duller until it is very dark on the lefthand side, currently I trying to clean the remote as it seems to have something film wise on the pads stopping it from registering buttons pressed.
Also when changing the screen size of Windows PC display to say to a smaller pixel sizewindow, the original window displayin the top left stays/takes a few seconds to disappear?...2 Photos -
by ChrissygizmoHello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same... -
by Ryan.manHello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!
My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.
This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen... -
by renechhello,
I hope someone on this forum can assist me.
I have a panasonic TH-42PC77U plasma television.
the lower 1/2 of the screen has become flaky....in and out, then finally goes black and you can only see the top portion.
i have performed the reset to default settings quite a few times. Panasonic recommended..did not believe this would help...it didn't.
I have removed the back panel and looked around for something obvious...burn marks in a board, etc....nothing obvious...
I have read some posts that suggest the problem is related to the boards on the left... - Loading...
