Panasonic TX-L37S20B......Dead, just a relay clicking inside.

    Hi Guy's,

Please help me with this duff one.

Bought from Ebay and seen 6months good service.

It then started with the FREEZING (sound & vision) for 10 to 15 seconds, a relay 'click' would come from inside and the unit would 'reset' happened about once a week.

Then FREEZING started happening two or three times a day!
Now the unit has shut down completely and will not start up at all, when switched on (from the button on the side) it just 'clicks' with the relay sound about every 2-3seconds.

Took it to the local repair shop and he said an (unspecified) PCB had failed and quoted £270, I agreed and he phoned back 5days later to say that this PCB had not resolved the problem..........and quoted £700 to £800 for the additional repairs........at which point I bailed on the deal.

Any oppinions on my problem guy's,

    Regards,
    Ding a Ling

The freezing problem suggests an A board issue, but it's possible they're unrelated.

Thank you Tom 66, I will attempt to source a replacement 'A board' and an image guide that helps me to identify this PCB.

One further thought occured to me whilst scratching my head (splinter box),
I have another Panasonic.....a TX-L37G10B, are the PCB's interchangable for the purpose of fault finding ? .........or is this a risky strategy.
        Cheers,
        Ding

If it were S10 vs G10 probably but not S20 vs G10 as they are different model years.

Panasonic TH-50PX8EA Black screen, only relay clicks
            by Rensiee
            Hello,
I have been reading a few threads on here regarding Panasonic plasma tv's. I've found one thread which explains the same problem as mine, unfortunately the thread has not been completed.
I got a free tv (TH-50PX8EA) from a friend which shows no screen. When plugged in only one red light shows up and when pushing the ON button, the red LED turns of and will only turn on again when pressing the ON button again.

When plugging in the TV i hear two relays click fast and after a few seconds the third relay clicks.
I have measured the voltage in the VSUS line, which...

Carver CM-1090 - Power relay clicking on & off, then fuse blown after 20-30 seconds of power cycling.
            by beetle1303
I gotten a Carver CM-1090 amplifier from a friend who has kept it in storage for decades. Opened it up, thick layer of dust cumulated everywhere. Vacuumed it semi-cleaned, and blown off as much as possible the remaining dust. This is a 220V version.

On initial powered up with nothing connected - it works with all the lights and button indicator lit up as pressed, etc. I then powered off, connected a CD player into the CD RCA input and powered it on. It seemed to work for a short while and when I turned the volume up and down to see the the VUs works, the power started to clicked off...

Garage door RX unit (Cardin S38C) does not short relay to send opening signal
            by CoinCoin88
            Hello everyone,

I'm turning to the Badcaps community to help me troubleshoot the radio Rx card from my (old) garage door opener. While I could just ditch that card and replace the whole system, I first would like to understand "why" it suddenly stopped working, because that's just how I am wired...!

Some basics: the receiver works on a 30.875 Mhz frequency. Yes, I'm aware this is not in use anymore in a looot of places. It does not use any rolling code, it's just a regular dip-switch code that you have to set up on both the receiver and transmitter. The receiver...

60" LG 60PB690V relay clicking issue
            by DodgyTech
            Hi everyone,

I require some help with my TV. The TV standby light blicks on and off with a clicking sound (relay?) from the back. After I opened up the TV, I set about troubleshooting by unplugging the boards to try and isolate the problem. My troubleshooting suggests that the logic board is causing the issue, but it could entirely be the YSUS board which is only activated once the logic board is connected.

I have recorded a video which I thought would be an easier way to explain the problem and show the boards at the same time.

I would like to try and identify...

Pioneer amplifier A-205 Relay not clicking after a mistake i made
            by GraphicMan
            Hello guys
Because the unit is old (but only occasionally used) the loudness button causes some noise due to bad contact,
sprays did not work, so i decided to solder the pins that it connects on the pcb at the on (loudness on) position
i did that and it worked fine, i know from the bottom of my heart that the switch connects 2 pins and also d/c other 2 pins
on every position it have (6 pin switch), so i was curious what would happen if i clicked the switch off while the pins are soldered at on (so basiclly on and off at the same time), when i did so the sound is gone, nothing...
