If it's just out of wty, try out of wty claim through Panasonic and I would write a letter to panasonic as well requesting assistance because the TV is simply not old enough and has not lasted what would be expected a reasonable amount of time. For the $$$$$$$ this cost it is.

If you also have any decent consumer laws in the UK maybe explore any protection there but here they have changed the laws or at least clarified them here in Australia and they would have to fix this for free providing it's was a manufacturing fault.

Yeah, in the UK look up the Sale of Goods Act. 6 years free warranty, and no-one seems to know about it. A premium item like this cannot be expected to last less than 2 years (it is 2012 model right?)

You need an engineer's report, which can be written by anyone qualified in TV repair (it does not need to be written by an actual TV repair engineer, but it needs to have a detailed description of the fault and why is not expected at this age, for this model, etc. Take into consideration purchase price, the cost of the repair, etc.)

Then, the report is taken to the retailer who acts on this information. (The manufacturer, Panasonic, will not do anything.) They should offer you a repair, refund, or replacement. Do not simply accept a credit note or discount on future purchases! This is not acceptable and you are entitled to more. If they refuse, take the case to a small claims court. In 99.5% of cases, the other side will never turn up and the case will be tried in their absence, which typically results in success for the claimant.
Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!
