Good morning gentlemen...

Picked up this TV,story from owner was that they where watching it,then a loud "pop" and screen went black,it came back on right away but colors etc where "not the same as before"...
I searched for a "popped" component but didn't see anything so far,wondering if the "pop" was through the speakers...
I measured the va and vs and 5 volts and they are dead on....
Any suggestion on where to focus on??

I would say that your Z-Sustain is bad. The pop was most likely an IPM failure under one of the large heat sinks. Check the fuses on each sustain to confirm.

That would be good news,cause I have a Z board here in a parts TV

Fuses on Y-sus are ok,can't find fuses on Z board.
Going to swap the Z-sus out and see what happens

Check the Z-bias voltage on the Z-Sustain; voltage is checked across the R111 resistor. This particular Z-Sus may not have ceramic main fuses.

SUCCESS......!!!!! Swapped out the Z-sus board and Tv now works like a charm...

Nice. Don't let the fame go to your head; remember where you came from - LOL. If the picture looks fine, I'd check and note the voltages, but you most likely won't need to make any adjustments.

Yes, the site is very slow today.

Edit: For future reference, when a plasma screen has a faint picture like yours, it's usually the Z-Sus in LG-based TVs.

Ya,great learning curve here.....I didn't mention it in this post,but I had already swapped out the Y-buffers from my donor TV just to find out and learn what it looks like if you have bad Y-buffers,lol....Now I know that my donor TV also has a bad Y-buffer besides the bad Y-sus board(classic flickering and ticking sound on IPM)(money tight right now but plan on replacing those IPM's and fix the Y-buffer soon on the donor TV,to learn and rake in more fame for being "TV smart",lol)
Collecting TV's like mad at the moment,it's starting to pay off in the sense of starting to have a nice collection of parts
Hate that most I pick up have broken screens....

small question about this tv...
There is one pixel that flickers kinda red at all times,more noticable when that part of the screen is dark..its only the one rest of screen is perfect..
Is that a dead pixel or a sign that voltage is a bit too high..???

It's most likely a bad pixel. I had a Toshiba 50" (probably the same LG panel) that did the same thing.

Edit: I kind of remember trying to run some patterns onscreen to un-stick the pixel, but that didn't work.

If you have a mal-discharging single pixel, I'd turn down the VsetUP control, or, if available, the Vset voltage.
