    Re: Toshiba 40RV525U Blows Fuse

When i tried it they were not connected and it did power up. The one that broke fell apart with just a light pull so i don't know if it was damaged which lead to it breaking so easy? Thanks for the help!

Yes damaged diodes will often crack in half and easily break. Just replace those two and it should be good to go.

Correction use these instead as they are bidirectional.

Those two TVSS are across the line as shown in my diagram on post 26 instead of using the MOVs.

                    Re: Toshiba 40RV525U Blows Fuse

Sorry for bumping an old thread but, i recovered one of these TV's from a treelawn as a blizzard started.

Got her home. No standby voltage. Followed this thread, learned alot about testing components...found out, if i removed the TVSS's, she came to life!

I DO want to put the circuit protection back in. How does one orient these TVSS's for polarity in the board properly?

I do have a zener diode in the primary that seems to beep continuity pretty easily. Has me a but curious if its shot.

Thanks again guys! Glad i found this thread.

                          Hello,

I have the same model with the same same problem. The part link on post 63 says part no found as it doesn't exist. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Thanks Budm! Quick question. I can use the part you gave me for both vs101 and 102? As for the fuse should it be a quick blow? From reading the post it seems both TVs's we're bad? As for c116 it tests bad using a capanalyzer 88a and I can't seem to figure out exactly what cap I need to replace it. Found this TV on the curb and would like to save it from going to a landfill.

PS. Found this fuse I think is right if it's fast blow. https://www.digikey.com/product-deta...1784-ND/639717
