    Need some info on caps

Hi all, I need some help on finding the right caps. Im working on my Samsung plasma tv power supply. It turns on for a few seconds then turns off. These caps look bad and im wanting to replace them.

My question is if I match them with a different make of capacitor with the same values, they should be ok right? even if they look a bit smaller?

Should be fine as long as their ripple current is close and they're rated at 105C. What brand and series did you choose?

Is there nowhere closer to you that will supply the caps, ebay/overseas spells trouble.
Not only is it a long wait they could be cheap imitations.

You have digikey.com , mouser.com, newark.com in US ... forget about eBay especially with large capacitors.

I think Pentium4 ment dont start putting 220uf x 250v caps in the 470's hole, get the same value caps from a good known supplier you will be ok

Re: Need some info on caps

If it's not HP series, the series of those capacitors should be printed on them, maybe on the other side.

Then you can just look up the datasheet.. i have an archive here:

                    ftp://helpedia.com/pub/temp/datasheets/capacitors/

If it's HP series from Capxon, the datasheet's here:

                    470uF 250v :
                    25mm x 41mm , 1.76A ripple current or
                    25mm x 46mm , 1.85A ripple current

These would probably work but double check diameter, space between leads, height etc:

in theory from better to less better

                    2-3000h @ 85c (that's kinda like 200-500h @ 105c, ideally you want to use 105c still)
