? I dunno there is another line that has about 160VDC but this particular line has 85V standby and jumps up temporarily to around 315-320VDC before it shuts down.

The service manual states 288V should be what 400V_HOT measures... I think it's limited by capacitor 2804/2803.

I got the new standby/audio board from SJ and still same problem. Ive got so much time and money in this old TV now it's war.

I just want it to work so I can throw it out the window afterwards.

If Im getting 5V at the SOST pin of control IC7001 MC34067P, does this indicate a problem with power board or somewhere else like backlights?

At this point I'm all in with this one.

I believe SOST should be high for it to work.

Re: Magnavox 30MF200V/17 Won't Power Up

I think after all this time it may be a bad Darfon transformer on the inverter. I had just given up on this one and was tearing it down for parts, when I noticed the 4006A transformers on the inverter board under the shield. One of them has open secondary. I ordered it will see what happens.

No 2 seconds to black just would do green led for a second then back to red.

Re: Magnavox 30MF200V/17 Won't Power Up

There could be an error feedback signal from the inverter, but I've only seen that on Sony, Panasonic and Sharp sets.

This is the board. There is a single wire connection that goes from the circled connector into the panel but other than that looks typical.

That appears to be the ground return for a different CCFL bulb drive design, I have seen it a few times before. Not often though.

took out the ballast board, couldn't find any problem, put it back ,now is working.

                      Probably bad connection.

                        by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                        Assuming...

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power
                        by PantherDave
                        Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
                        by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...
