How long does it last after being powered up, does it instantly turn off or after 5 mins etc.?

when you turn it on it lasts for 5 mins then its standby mode

OK, in which case, I suggest you try heating parts up and seeing if you can get it to shut off quicker, if you do, you have found a suspect area. Hairdryer or hot air gun works well.

thanks but it now is on standby when u switch on,then blinks 4 times.

What is the full model number of the set?
KDL-32S30XX does not look like Sony model number.
