Hi,
I have an LG 50PG3000-ZA with the classic "picture gone black" problem. Followed another thread on this forum (very helpful) and checked fuses, voltages of Va and Vs etc, all of which are looking OK. No bloated/popped caps that I can see.
Removed the upper and lower buffer boards, one at a time:
- removal of the lower buffer board makes no difference (blank screen)
- removal of the upper buffer board results in blank top half and "not blank" bottom half - BUT the picture is not clear and doesn't seem to show anything like the source that is being fed in. In fact, it's as if the Sky Digital pause symbol has been burned into the screen faintly in the bottom left hand corner.
So, basically, wondering if anyone has any advice/ideas... is it just that the buffer board is screwed, that the buffer board and the Y-sus boards are screwed or is something worse on the cards?
Also, sound is intermittent/inconsistent and does not seem to reflect the source when scart is connected, seem to get nothing when HDMI connected.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
