This is my first attempt at fixing a TV but I'm confident i should be able to do it.
When attached to the mains I get the red standby light, but when trying to power it on it makes a clicking noise. If i leave it for a while it will just keep clicking over and over trying to turn on.
I took the back off and the clicking is coming from the power supply, bottom right corner. (2nd pic)
The owner of the TV had the same thing happen while under warranty and it got repaired. All components have factory lead free solder except the two brown capacitors (sam young lxz 10v 2200uf), they are sporting some nice shiny leaded solder on the leads.
The two large blue capacitors (samwha xc 25v 100uf) are bulging and leaking slightly so I'll be replacing those at least. (3rd pic)
A quick search on the internet indicates that the capacitors are a common issue with this model. so should i be replacing them all or just the 4 larger ones? visually everything looks ok although i know that doesn't guarantee anything. Are Samwha or SamYoung generally known to be bad?
I'd probably use something like Panasonic FM or FC as I was able to easily get them when I re-capped a pc power supply a little while back.
