hi i recently bought a lg 42lc46 tv from a local auction i bought it home and i couldnt get a picture led light went from standby to flashing green 6-7 times i looked on other forums said about it might be the power supply so i changed that same problem then i changed the lvds board still nothing so i changed the main board great tv works in a fashion the picture has a spasm for about 10 minutes shoots little lines of all different colours then fine i can watch tv but my main problem now is when i plug my xbox into hdmi it completely throws out the idea of trying to get a picture up at all i tried the xbox in the red white and yellow outputs and i get a ok picture on like my friend list where there isnt much colour but if i try to run a game or even stay on the home screen it completely goes screwy any help on this as i can only think it might actually be the lvds - main board wiring but i dont have a clue first tv ive tried to fix ever and im already in to the tv for about £185 which isnt great but not too bad anyone have any pointers now as ive nearly given up. i can get the xbox to work if i leave the tv on so it heats the board up after about a hour or so? any ideas out there

Probably tab bonds -- common issue with this set.
See here: Different symptoms but same cause.

Be VERY careful when making this repair... all too easy to break the panel.

Un70nu6900 taped lvds, how to fix washed out 1/2 picture?
        by mecha1166
I am getting these 70 inch Samsungs daily. Dead set light comes on goes off, dark screen. Tried taping the problem lvds cable pins 13 to ? pin, used about 9 mm scotch tape. Picture comes on, no distortion lines, looks good, but 1/2 of screen is washed out. Problem seems to always be the last little strip on the bottom. Has anyone found what is actually the problem? Possibly one of three diodes there? I have a pic but it is washed out on 1/2. Anyony had success in fully restoring the picture? Thanks.

        An Xbox One PSU Odyssey

Firstly I am not a tech. You guys may see mistakes or oversights in my methods so don't be bashful and feel free to post corrections/opinions.

        =>Background:
I bought my son a used Xbox One original model: A12-220N1A Rev: 02 with original PSU & 2 controllers 7 years ago. I “modded” the unit placing a 4.5” 12V exhaust fan with a 9v wall wart adapter on top of the vent/fan of the unit. And plugged the Xbox PSU into a Tripplite LTR-600 voltage regulator. Also connected to the Tripplite are a 275w computer tower, an Xbox 360 PSU and a Westinghouse 52” LED TV. ...

T-con suspect issue. Both ribbon cables no picture. One ribbon cable ok. (58pus8545)
        by Tr0ll
Hi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.

The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.

        Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.

        First replacement T-con:

I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)...

SAMSUNG UN55KS9000F picture fades then distorts into vertical lines after 20 seconds
        by JJAAMM
This was my main TV for the last 6 years. I'm not inclined to throw out a $2600 TV so quickly so I'm trying to investigate the issue.

        Problem
TV was disconnected from power for 6 months during construction. When I plugged it yesterday picture was fine, after 30 seconds it dimmed then started developing horizontal lines, picture then starts to ghost vertically until it degrades into vertical streaks. TV always displays a perfect picture when cold. I can unplug TV for 5 minutes and plug it back in and picture is restored for 20 seconds. I can also keep it in standby mode...

Samsung TV model UE50TU: rebooting, backlight, sound, but no picture
        by TR103
        Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
        - sound and backlight, but no picture
        - when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
        - it keeps rebooting
        - without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
        - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
        - when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

        - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered...
