Re: Samsung PN42C430 Plasma no picture please HELP
Hmm, I'm noticing anything out of the ordinary. 2, 3, and 6: You can further test by holding black on pin 3 while quickly touching red to pin 1 then moving red to pin 2. Should get something like 0.5V.Comment

Re: Samsung PN42C430 Plasma no picture please HELP
I wonder if the VS and VA voltages stay up without the Y-buffer connected. I'd be careful if you try that. I've found that the Y-main holds a charge, so you could possibly damage the Y-buffer if you don't wait for the charge to dissipate before reconnecting them. I had to wait at least 15 mins, and I checked voltages at the Y-main-to-Y-buffer connectors to be sure. You can force the discharge by using a resistor on the Y-main's capacitors (one resistor lead on pos and the other lead on neg) - can't remember the resistor value needed to do this.Last edited by capkid; 05-01-2013, 04:11 AM.Comment

The tv I worked on was a RCA 42PA30RQ with these Samsung internals. The power supply would not stay at panel voltage with the X-main disconnected.Comment

These newer Samsung will shut down if X-main or Y-main are not detected as functioning or if they are not connected. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Samsung PN42C430 Plasma no picture please HELP
Since they're so cheap, I might give another X-main a shot. However, I'd test the components on the board before installing it in the TV. If that doesn't work and the X-main blows, I'd probably replace them all at once. I still think there's a fault somewhere on the Y-main or buffer. I generally hate throwing parts at TVs, though.Last edited by capkid; 05-01-2013, 02:38 PM.Comment

Nice. Even though we couldn't pinpoint the issue on the Y-Sus, I figured it was likely you'd have to replace all three boards.Comment

Re: Samsung PN42C430 Plasma no picture please HELP
Even if I have updated it before with the newest firmware? I updated it just before it failed. changing the x-mail, y-mail and y-buffer doesn't destroy the new firmware I put onto it does it?Comment

by TR103Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
- sound and backlight, but no picture
- when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
- it keeps rebooting
- without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
- without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
- when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

by droneratHi Guys,
This forum has been in great help to me, but I stumbled upon a strange problem with a salvaged Samsung TV that I am banging my head to troubleshoot.
PSU: L48S6 FHS BN44-00807D
T-Con: BN95-01937A
Panel: CY-GJ048HGLVLH
MB: NA (Currently as the TV is assembled and forgot to take picture)
As I said earlier I have some issues with the TV I got from a friend of mine. The TV had no picture, but sound, back light and everything else was working fine.
It was sent to an authorized service for repairs and returned with the... -
by YellowJacketHi friends,
a friend of mine gave me this TV to fix, with common SAMSUNG TV issue - damaged panel. Turning on, sound is present, but no picture. So I went directly to standard process, connecting two pads together with a wire ( see in the picture ), and then removing flex cables. With right flex connected, there was half screen working, but still no picture ( disappearing colors and similar weird stuff ) + working sound. With left flex connected, TV is restarting + working sound. I supposed, left side is damaged, so I then blocked all 8 CLK pins ( going from 0R resistors on the second... -
by OllerenshawAbout 50% of time, on switching tv on, there is a jerky staticky picture over whole screen. After some seconds (variable, 5 to 20 seconds) picture suddenly becomes normal.
Nothing appears abnormal inside.
I'm not a service technician. Main questions: Any ideas as to problem? Worth taking to repair technician? My skills would allow replacing a board but nothing more complicated.
Photos and video attached.
Thanks for any ideas....11-01-2022, 11:55 AM - Loading...
