Puzzeled..Do I have bad caps? Video

I've searched around for awhile now and still can't find anything.. Its a LG 47lh30 with main board from a 42lh30 (replaced). I checked all the power outputs from the power supply board to the main and inverter boards and they are all correct. It starts up but after 5 seconds cuts off (dark green screen with a horizontal line)

Did notice the power output voltage on 42lh30, to the main board, is 20V instead of the 47lh30 24V. These boards have the same part number. EAX567381, is this correct?

Thanks in advance for any help..

I would guess the board is incompatible you should be using numbers from
a bar code sticker? on the boards. Did the seller confirm it was compatible?
Does the eax number not have more on the end (05)? (01)?

        Video fixed..

Forgot to mention, that I did not notice any burnt solder or bulging caps on the power supply or main board. Attached picture.

selldoor-I did think about the boards not being the same but before buying a new one I want to make sure.. The barcode stickers are not the same. I bought the 42lh30 for parts (broken screen). TH

ok watched the video is that with all the original parts?
          if not
What was the original fault on the 47

Is that with a source connected? if not try it with.
Can you get a menu on screen
          Is there any sound

            selldoor-

The TV originally would not turn on. I put in the 42lh30 main board on got these results in the video.

Plugged computer into HDMI port and got the video for the few seconds before going "green", but without sound.

Got the menu to pop up but not a lot of time to work with.

            Thanks

The horizontal line indicates a sudden power-cut to the T-con board (improper sequencing.) This probably indicates a fault on the PSU, or the main board is crashing.

hmm so you have a board outputting 24v to the main board which is expecting
20v? Dont think that will be doing any good.

If the mainboard connectors all connect ok to the tcon did you try using
the 42 power supply with the 42 main. Or for that matter all the 42 boards with the 47 panel?

Was the 47 yours when it went faulty - did you try and find what the fault was

                    tom66 Thanks

I checked the output voltage on the 47's psu and got the the 24,12,5.2's readings. The pcu came from a 42 which had 20,12,5.2, could this cause the pcu to crash?

Anyone know for sure the correct main board barcode # required? After looking online, I noticed a few different versions that people said came out of the 47lh30.

The 20V/24V may be for audio. So could be noncritical.
However, many main boards have DC over-voltage detects which may be triggering the fault.
So I would suggest it as a potential cause.

Yeah..not till later on when I tested both power supply's. but the eax #'s were the same.
So I am going to buy a new main board and try it..

The 42 power & main board work on the 42 with a cracked screen..it does not the same inverter board on the 47.

I think you need to tell us all the numbers on the 47 Main board you believe is faulty.
better still post a pic of it.

On the power supply there was another number which might have helped just above
and to the left of the eax number.

EDIT Sorry that is the EA number I am looking at.

Attached is the original board that came in the 47 that didn't power on. It did not have sticker with the EBU # on it.

Bought the 47 to try and fix for the house and then bought the 42 thinking the main boards were the same because the eax #'s matched.

I think EAX is the number to look at.
EBU is the number of the blank board (no components) which could come in multiple configurations.

I don't follow, if you're referring to the mainboards applying that reasoning the 42 & 47 he has would be the same since he's quoting EAX5673810505 (0) for both boards.

I've seen similar stuff with samsung. The pcb stencilled numbers are the same for 50Q & 50C91 plasma mainboards, however they are not the same and there was a separate white label which gave the true part numbers which were different.

I believe the EBU on the white labels is what I'd chase down

edit: and then I look his label and more confusion. Great! I'd still try and decypher that one unless there's a label which has come off?

Ok. I agree.. The sticker must have fallen off before I bought the 47.

Attached is the original board that came in the 47 that didn't power on. It did not have sticker with the EBU # on it.

Bought the 47 to try and fix for the house and then bought the 42 thinking the main boards were the same because the eax #'s matched.
Do you know if that's the original or did the previous person swap it? All the pen markings are they yours or how it came? On the TV production label on the chassis can you locate the exact model version, that may help to work out what main you need.

                                      I'm expecting 47LH30-UA.AUSJLUR as that's the only 47" one I can see with a PCB EAX5673810505 (0)

Just had a peak at the online parts listing here (AUS) for a 47lh35 and the main is referred to as a BPR Total Assembly EBU60723601, you can see the name CARRIER BPR above your PCB number EAX.....

Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

                                          Hello,

First, I am a complete noob with high voltage stuff. I'm learning, but I need help by someone looking over my shoulder.

I recently came into posession of a Heathkit IO-4205 5MHz Dual Trace Oscilloscope. The documentation is copyright 1978. I'm told it works.

I opened it up to check the caps before I applied power, and found the following black caps and wanted to know what they were. They are on the power supply board. I was able to read the name and model and came up with, "Nytronics 162J-1, 0.1uF, 20% tolerance, 2000VDC."
