Glad it's fixed. Another one saved from the dump .
Have you sorted out the buzzing as well?

I only had the screen on for about 30 seconds so far. No buzzing so far. I will ensure the rear screws go on nice and snug.

For sure my TV was saved from the dump. Also saved a hole from opening up in my wallet too. LOL!

I also tightened up the SS and SC board screws before turning on the TV.

        Update.

About a month ago my Panny started giving me troubles in the lower portion of the screen. The bottom two inches of the screen was blank (Previous problem was with the upper portion of the screen). Anyways after re-seating all connections with the SD board, I ordered a new one from the same vendor I got the SU board from. I will report back if I have further issues with my after the new board arrives.

If its ok with you, I'd like some assistance with my friends TV set. Its also a Panasonic 50" TH-50PX75U. It has developed a thin line on the right side of the screen. I have attached a picture of the TV set.

        His description of the problem:
The vertical line runs from top to bottom approx 2 inches from the right side of the screen. The line is made up of mis-coloured pixels. The problem occurs only when the screen is displaying lighter colours. IE screen might be light blue, but the pixels will display red/yellow colours in error. When the screen is black or dark blue the screen displays normal.
The red LED light does not blink at all.

Any assistance as to how I can start to diagnose the problem with his TV set?

Thank you so much for your assistance.

        Brad.

Most likely panel fault or one of the embedded ICs on the flat panel ribbon, not repairable. i had a 42PX7 with that exact problem, same generation and a 42PX70 which did not but used same panel and boards. Swapped digital board and c boards with no change so pretty sure it was the panel.

I had similar issues with my set. First was the 7 blink issue, resolved that but reconnecting every connector on the boards and problem went away, possibly alot of dust causing poor connectivity.....who knows.

The problem i'm seeing now is that when the tv is turned on, the screen is filling with vertical colored lines, all at random colors.

Any ideas where to start looking first?

              Any suggestions appreciated

              Regards

Sounds like a buffer board problem, picture of fault?

See if you can see where to check the -Vad and Vscn voltages...

Hmmmm, not versed in checking voltages at all, but i'll pass this info over to my TV techy who lives over in Trinidad. The more info i can give him the better i will feel as technicians in this part of the world are a little green at times.

Hoping the set is fixable as the screen quality is outstanding.

Thx for your suggestion on the voltages tho.

If it is a buffer board, whats the approx price in the UK for these boards?

                        all the best
