What do you have on the BL_ON (INV_ON)? It should also have >3V on that pin of the power supply board. Did you also cut the BL_ON wire?

yeah I did cut the BLU_ON also. It is showing 3.3V on PSU side and some .8 on MB side. The PS_ON on the main board side is varying from 3.3 to .2. Now I understand this was the frequency the other line voltages used to vary when I connect PS_ON to board. Why do you think the backlight is still not working? should it have something to do with the LAMP_DETECT. the line is showing something ~1.8V steady.

There may also be a backlight dimming pin like BL DIM.

Do you still have this signal, it is an AC signal at about 150~200 Hz.

sorry for the delayed response. I had some broadband issue over the weekend.

I just checked the PWM_DIMMING once again. the Pin shows about .8V now, constant.

Do you think its a Main board problem still? I can try changing the main board, but just thought of making sure before spending money on that.

Also, just to state the original problem. It all begin with a double image on the screen (one regular image and a less bright shadow sort of image below) and when I disconnect one side of T-Con the active side was perfect. If I connect other side alone, it still had the problem (this made me think its T-CON problem on one side). The support guy said the whole panel has to be replaced withought much diag. If its really a panel problem, it may not worth spending on the main board now. If I can get rid of the problem by replacing T-CON, I can think of replacing the Mainboard now (I already bought a T-CON board for around $50)

At this point, you do have main board problem, we are just trying to find out if you also have the power supply board problem or not. If you disconnect the cable and the main board and can see that the backlights do come on, that will verify that the backlihgts circuits are OK.

sure. And what do you think about the original problem. do you think it could be just T-CON problem or might as well be a panel problem as the service guy said?
