    Need help with a Vizio p50hdtv10a

    I Have a p50hdtv10a that is displaying these symtoms and i have a no idea how many boards are bad to cause it. i am electronics hobbyist and have purchased a plasma repair book from Damon morrow and understand some on plasmas but am wondering if any body can help me on this one. here are some pics the pic with the single white row is with the logic timing board disconnected. The pic with the green is with menu is activated with logic board attached to the vertical buffers. Jon

      I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

      Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

      I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

      The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

      With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

      Hi.

      picked up another TV. This time is a Vizio M65-C1. TV does not turn on. I had repaired another 60 inch vizio , Bad main board.
      When power button is pressed, the Power led indicator on the bottom right, turns for a few seconds and then it fades away. No backlight or Vizio logo on screen. Removed back cover and repeated test.
      This is the TV This TV is a little different from the Samsung I have worked on. Power supply is on the Left side, Main Bd is on the right side, T-CON , not in the picture is on the bottom. I am assuming that the boards in the middle are the LED...

      I hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.

      I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.

      The models launched in 2018 and 2019 respectively....

      Failure Symptom



      No picture, just red vertical stripes. Google search shows quite common problem for these recent Vizio M series although red vertical stripe pattern may differ. Some call it "Netflix" boot screen haha.

      Where is the short?

      Panel has 4x buffer boards. Quickly found the 1/4 panel buffer board with the problem by selectively disconnecting buffer board flex cables.
