    Samsung LN-T4061F power issue

This Samsung lcd has power issue. It doesnt always turn on and when it did I got lines on screen like in pic1.
I opened it up and saw 4 visible bad caps that are Samwha WB 10v 1000uf in pic2.

I plan on replaceing all 7 caps in pic 2 with panasonic FM or FR unless someone thinks I should replace more or use something else. These 7 seem to have a high failure rate.

Ebay kit is $12 otherwise it cost me about $10 for panasonic FM/FR from digikey.
Will a 16v 1000uf panasonic cap be fine? Or is that too high voltage rating?

Nice easy fix. I would use Panasonic from Digikey. No telling what crap eBay sellers may dish out.
Voltage rating is a higher or same spec.

I agree. I have used a few kits before and sometimes the dimensions of the caps they send arent the same. I had to leave 1 cap almost a half inch off board crammed inbetween other caps.

      original-Samwha WB 10v 1000uf
      I have 2 16v 1000uf panasonic I thought of useing but since I have to order I will look for 10v 1000uf.

You can always increase the voltage on caps, you should generally increase the voltage whenever you order new caps, because that is the maximum voltage before they pop, and cheap board makers in china often pick ones that are way under what they should be.

Those 10v caps might be filtering a 12v line, so they are always going to be over their max safe range (up to 10v), if you replace them with 16v caps they will generally be within the safe range (anything under 16v)

The capacitance you dont want to alter significantly (more then 5% ?) unless you are very knowledgeable on electronics and know how the capacitor is being used. But the voltage rating is always safe to increase.

I think FM, FC are the caps you want to use in the secondary of a power supply, the FR arent bad, but arent usually recomended for that purpose, i wouldnt sweat it if you already used / or already have some FR's though since theyre a good quality cap.
Fixed so far 12 lcd's , 1 plasmas, 5 monitors, 0 dlp's (plan to keep the dlps at 0). and 3 atx power supplies, and 2 motherboards.

One thing I would say is the one thing Samsung did not do is over-volt the caps. The 10V caps filter the 5.2V line and 16/25V caps filter the 13V line.

This post covers some concern I had about a couple of the caps being slightly different.

Way to use double negatives, now your really going to confuse him :p

10v caps for 5v rails , and 25v caps for 12v rails seems pretty decent to me, if you go much larger you can run into size issues. Id still replace all the 10v ones with 16v caps, and replace all the 16v / 25v ones with 25v ones.

Are you fixing the same board like 2 years later??? Unless your running a bar / gym with multiple units with the same model, then you have some slow turn around rate

Edit : That post isnt by you, i feel like an idiot now.. lol

I picked parts I think will be good replacements.

                For the 10v 1000uf I chose.
                http://www.digikey.com/product-detai...1CT-ND/3072211

                for the 25v 220uf.
                http://www.digikey.com/product-detai...2411-ND/613772

for the 25v 1000uf. (This one is 10mm dia.)
                http://www.digikey.com/product-detai...9CT-ND/3072229

for the other 25v 1000uf(12.5 dia.)
2 10mm(above) should be fine but if you want...

Iam just a hobbyist... No guarantee my choices are the best choice.

Those look fine to me. I almost always use Panasonic caps as replacements. If they aren't available, I use, in order of preference, Rubycon, Nichicon and United Chemicon.

Just wondering if you got the set working. I have same set with same issue. Thanx ahead.
