My TV clicked and powered itself off. I turned the TV back on with the remote control. The front panel green light comes on, screen powers up but there is no picture or sound. Apparently, no menu showed up with the remote since there was no picture. I tried the side panel button but there was no difference. Next, I tried researching my options and possible advice on line. I removed the back cover and checked the boards but I did not find any burn spots or leaking capacitors. The sticker labels inside the TV states LG electronics, dated 2007-05. I found four fuses, checked them with a multimeter with zero reading results. Two fuses were located on Screen Panel 1, one on the Main Board and one on the Logic Board. I did not see a fuse on the Screen Panel 2 Board. Please advise if there are actually five fuses and where the last one may be located elsewhere. All of the boards inside are like computer boards with a couple screws holding it in place. I'm surprised they don't have a small fan to circulate fresh air and keep any heat source down. Any advice what to do next is appreciated.

Pictures of the chassis would help us help you.
Also, is it DP50747?
What is the PDP model? This will be marked on one of the stickers marked with "LG Electronics".Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

OK, it's really hard to see, but it looks like an LG plasma panel?
In which case, isolated the Z-sus, power up the set, see if you get a maldischarged picture (purple tint, partial panel discharge, looks foggy sometimes.)
Do you have a digital multimeter? Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Sanyo Plasma DP70747 Powers Up No Sound Or Picture
I will upload another group of pictures that are lighter and easier to see tomorrow on Monday Feb 11.
When the TV is switched on (remote or side button) the power button on the front of the TV lights up and it remains green color. The screen powers up normal (flickers on) but no picture shows. The picture screen looks dark grey as if it is waiting for a picture to show up. When I turn the power off, the screen is black. Yes, I have a digital multimeter.Comment

Ah, so the panel is primed -- that is, in a dark room, you can see a slight glow? Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Sanyo Plasma DP70747 Powers Up No Sound Or Picture
If the panel is being primed, then the main board is most likely the fault. You say no sound -- have you tried flicking through sources with an audio and video source. Note most TVs won't play audio without a working video source. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

by KYBOSHPicked up a bahemoth plasma TV not too long ago and just now getting around to looking at it.
No picture but you hear the TV static (white noise) playing loud and clear.
The back was already taken off (and no screws were provided) as the previous owner had already taken a look.
But it seems they didn't get too far and just left it.
When I first took a look I was amazed at how pristine the inside looked.
Its as if the TV had been in a time capsule.
Caps looked like they were just pulled off the self.

by TR103Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
- sound and backlight, but no picture
- when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
- it keeps rebooting
- without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
- without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
- when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

by MgiffuneI have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.
I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and... -
by IerwinHello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged... -
by jchangHi all
I was just given a Samsung TV with the issue. I read various threads and videos and attempted the ribbon tape method to gain an image, but no luck.
Symptom:
No picture no sound.
When I plug in the power cord, Backlight LED turns on for a half second and then turns off. The red LED next to the power button located center bottom flashes 2 or 3 times. When the power button is pressed after, it does the same thing.
No sound at all.
What I tried:
1. I tried unplugging the left or right ribbon... - Loading...
