You say you get sound but no video, do you always have a backlight present or only when t-con connector is removed?

Also, clear pictures of the chassis and of each board will help us help you.

the backlight comes on when I removed the connector from the main board or from the inverter board.

In which case, you likely have a shorted MLCC on the T-con board. Post a picture of this and we can suggest where to test.

First picture needs to be better, I cannot see anything, remember I do not have this board in front of me that picture is my eyes.

                I've highlighted some MLCCs.

With TV off (power cord unplugged) measure the resistance on 200 ohm scale.

Note down the numbers of any capacitor that measures less than 20. Many will measure a single "1" - consider this as different from "1.0" and meaning infinite or no reading. Do not note down capacitors that read "1". Example capacitor number: look close on board for reference designator i.e. C1385.

OK, what resistance do you measure from both ends of that "TK" fuse to the chassis?

Dead short, then. Try without those panel ribbons connected, so we can rule out shorted LCD panel.

T-con is very cheap, I suggest you just swap it.

Yes, you may have a short on the panel board. This may be repairable but you'd have to tear down the frame completely to locate the MLCCs and repeat the same test for it.

                                          Hi There,

This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

TCL 55S425 few horizontal lines, potential failure on both side of panel/buffer board

All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
                                          • TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
                                          • Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault
