    Panasonic TC-P50V10 - Partial screen/Partial Flickering

Well the top quarter of the screen works (as well as bottom) but past that it is cut off. (The whole screen is primed though)

Normally I would think a buffer failure but when there is a bigger signal (lets say snow for cable) then the whole screen will show as well as the hidding menu.

I can sometimes get the rest of the menu to show but it flickers (but only flickers under that quarter of the screen that is fine).

So I have narrowed it down to a drive board failure. The power supply checks out. I do not know what the other check points on the SC board are so couldn't really verify but if you wanted to know I could get those for you.

I want to cancel out the SS board since that top portion is fine and it's symptoms seem opposite of an X/Z failure on a plasma.

This happens on all inputs so it seems D and A (integrated) would be ruled out and since it seems to processing correctly.

I think it is in the buffers or SC board but not sure, never seen this.

        Here are some.
I noticed on cable snow it would go full (no flicker) but I had a movie in with composite video and it struggled to show the lower 3/4 of the screen but HDMI had no trouble at all.
There was no distortion in the picture other than the absence of it.

We have seen this before, it is a bad Y-Buffer.

                Buffer replaced?

Yes, though I got both buffers as a package deal so thought it wasn't a bad idea to replace both.

It is not a bad idea at all. Usually you can identify the suspect buffer by where the picture stops working from.

                      by Ado02
                      Hello everyone,

We recently replaced the OLED screen on a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Gen 10. After about a month, the replacement screen began to flicker. Initially, updating the Intel® Iris® Xe graphics driver resolved the issue for about a week. However, when the problem recurred, updating the driver again had no effect.

The flickering only occurs once the system reaches the Windows login screen. Interestingly, if we disable the Intel GPU driver or connect the laptop to an external monitor, the flickering stops. We have tried installing two different replacement screens,...

                      Hi to all,

I've been scratching my head for several days on this Oled issue with only 3/4 of the screen is flickering and will turn off due to Burned Panel protection. The Service Menu shows an Instart log of an Inverter Error. I've manage to bypass the Protection circuit to further analyze and find the cause of the Inverter error and found that its the VGH_E on the right side of the TCON(CN14) is causing the Inverter Error. Tried to block that VGH_E but the screen flickering was just reduced to only 1/4 side of the screen. All voltage check are normal on the TCON side.

                      by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

Hi all, I’ve got a problem I hope someone can help me fixi.
I have a Panasonic TX-48CX350B tv , it powers up ok but the screen is blank, the backlights are working, there’s nothing else though, no picture or sound. I’m not sure what the fault is called whether it’s BLANK/ BLACK/ or WHITE SCREEN I’ve actually came across this before on a similar tv but just ended up scrapping it, I will upload pictures of the boards etc , if anyone could help me I would really appreciate it...

Panasonic Plasma TH-50PZ85U No screen No blinks on red power light
                      by Alicat
                      Hello,

Stopped by this site trying to fix my parents Panasonic Plasma TV.

                      Model number is TH-50PZ85U

Power comes on and the red power light stays on solid.

Did a few checks like hold the power button on for 60 seconds, hold the - Volume while holding the menu button, no luck, still@ blank grey screen as the screen lights up very vague.

I also hear a few clicks.

I also think my parents said there was a thunderstorm and the TV failed after that.

Section 6 in the service manual talks about power and no screen,...
