Screen testing tool

Hi guys,
I'm trying to get equipped with the right tools to repair high def tvs.
When it comes to testing the screen alone I was recommended to get the LST02 or LST03 here:

They do have a limitation of not able to test larger than 42" screens, if I remember right. Does any one know of a better alternative? And also of something for plasma screen testing?

For $230 you could just take a spare LCD TV main board and PSU and wire it up to drive a panel. Maybe put it in a case or something.
